3DS Streetpass Experiences

Not sure if I'm understanding right, but you triggered him to fix his army count right? If you never even look at his army count, it'll just fix at a multiple of whatever army count you have when you do go look.

I never looked at his army count. I assumed that its always going to be a multiple of my army count. Is there a way to fix it so that it doesnt get any higher as my army grows?

What I meant with my original post was that I typically only get ~3000 troops per street pass because I only regularly street pass with my brother.
Because of the more luck based nature of the final battle, I cant really afford to lose 10% of my troops should I fail. Since Im at 750,000, I figured itd be better if I just waited until I crossed the 1,000,000 mark, got that plaza ticket, and then attempted the final fight because my troop count wouldnt matter so much to me anymore.

I only finished the first loop, but once I looked at his army count, it never changed from that point on until I finally managed to beat him (took 4 attempts), and I waited until I had doubled my army size so that the situation was beatable even if I lost twice. If you're waiting to look, his army will just be that much larger when you finally do.

Come to Glasgow. 10 today again, I could get used to this. When they were queuing up I noticed the one at the end looked exactly like Joffocakes' Mii with a Tom Nook bunnet but sadly it was some impostor.

Mii Squad complete! What a game for 4 quid whatever it was, far more content in there than I'd expected when the additional games were announced. A little glad it's over now as the latter stages I found a bit stressful after a day at work but very enjoyable.

I'm in Birmingham, so I'll try and fill my quota.

It would definitely be a lot simpler if the plaza limit was raised to 50. Or even 20. Trying to find a dark-corner of a Starbucks where I can play with my toys is tough.

Either the relay points are starting to get used where I am or I just got lucky because I got 6 streetpasses today and pretty much at least one hit for all of my streetpass enabled games.

On that note, is there a way to cheat in Streetpass Battle because this seems messed up.

OK, y'all people that keep saying 9,999,999 is impossible are full of it. My fiancee's 3DS has over 4 million after 3 runs, I promise she does not cheat. It adds exponentially. I'd imagine if you used a ton of coins or found a bunch of street passes, it wouldn't be that hard.

I accumulated over 500 new Streetpasses (thanks Otakon!) over the weekend and ran them all through Warrior's and I'm only at 1.2 million. That's BS.

I dabbled in the dark arts of Mac spoofing #teamevil. I feel disgusted at Streetpass Battle (but only Battle...). My troop count went from 2000 to over 8000 in that one session (3000 of that was from defeating 2 monarchs). But these decisions will bite me as my next kingdom to invade (16 left) will now probably be 20,000 strong and regular passes will be even more pathetic. Here was a typical example of one:
IMG_2694_zps6eaaafa8.jpg

Yeah 4 troops.
They're more like in the 50-100 range plus the occasional xx,xxx+ monarchs (soon I will be strong enough to consume your troops)

Heres how mansion floor 8 went:
IMG_2703_zps7fd3af63.jpg

6 spaces left...the stairs really must hate me.

Anyway you know you're tasking Streetpass mansion a bit seriously when you've 5 blue shirted Miis in your queue and you are franticly drawing their pieces on paper to work out the biggest space you can make with them only to find it won't work in-game due to stupid pre-placement (floor 9, ahead of you is a 6x3 area, next row up columns 3 and 4 have blocks). Fine, heres my scribbles:
IMG_2704_zps2bdb0069.jpg

And I still did not get a gold chest from the 4x3 placement I made. Stupid storage box and Mii with puzzle box I was 2 seconds over the target time for so got a crappy potion istead.

Puzzle swap surprised me. Quite a lot of purple pieces in these newer puzzles. Except Dillion 2

During Otakon I actually passed someone where it was literally only the one person showing up. I wish I had taken a photo of it, it was cute.

My friends and I all have 3DSes as well as my neighbor so I streetpass rather often. I honestly never leave home without it. Probably why it recently got a cracked screen and I had to send it into Nintendo for repair.

I went to the Zelda: Symphony of the Goddess concert in Austin recently and streetpassed around 60 people there. Got so many hats that day.

Was this done under warranty? If not, how much did it cost? My 3DS has had a flaky R button for the better part of a year now and I haven't figured out if I should try to contact Nintendo about it or just buy a new 3DS.

I'm at most of the smaller conventions up and down California selling stuff, so I tend to rack up SpotPass's fairly easily. Last convention I was at was the first one where I had Animal Crossing. Amazing how quickly my lot filed up in a matter of minutes.

I am indeed under warranty but the warranty doesn't cover physical damage and when I called Nintendo Support they told me initially it would be $125 plus shipping and handling (about $10) to fix. HOWEVER, that price IS negotiable and I was personally able to get them to lower it to $75 over the course of my conversation as follows:

When the guy told me the price, I told him this price was too much for me as I am a college student (this was key) and could not afford this and would instead seek the option of a local game store.

He then said the problem with this is that I would not get a warranty and that through Nintendo's repair system I would get a brand new warranty which I agreed was nice but still not a solution to my money problem.

He understood and lowered the price by $25 and said he would wave the shipping and handling fee for me. I thanked him but said that still was under my budget and told him I could only afford about $80 this month.

He then said he would lower the price to $75 with no shipping or handling since Nintendo appreciates people trying to go to school. I thanked him profusely and settled on this price.

I have no doubt I could have gone as low as $50 but I felt $75 (about $80 w/ tax) was fair. I highly recommend this.

Other notes:

-If you decide to go this route, make sure you have most of your stuff saved to a separate SD card or your computer just in case as the customer service rep I spoke to said that they initially try to rebuild the 3DS from the ground up to try and fix the problem and if that doesn't work, they replace it. This won't hinder your play coins or downloaded games but could impact your saved progress in some games depending on what they do.

-If they have to replace the system, you might get a different color. If you have a specialty or rare 3DS, this can be a problem as they usually seem to have basic blue and sometimes red in stock (when I called, they only had one red system and the rest were blue. My friend had a minor issue with spots on his Pikachu system that they could not fix and he had to change it over to a basic blue system although Nintendo did offer to send him back his original system without and fixes)

-Make sure you have a printer available to print your shipping label within 30 days of your repair application.

The spy counter is per session, not per battle. It is possible to have 11 battles in a session (10 monarchs from afar plus normal progression); the number of times you can spy is not replenished after each one.

Ah! I've not had a monarch from afar I couldn't just brute force through so that makes sense, excellent.

I'm on the third run through, final battle. I lost 1.2 million troops last night failing that and another 100,000 this morning. Sadness.

I agree with that. You end up rarely losing the regular battles in the main quest and gain about 100,000 or more troops from them since they scale to your army. StreetPasses become mostly irrelevant; they're just like tokens to get another attempt at the quest rather than a way to expand your army.

EDIT: Guh. Double post.

Arcade mode of Mii Force is one chance only... damn!
Made it to 3-2 without any difficulties, but then stopped paying attention for 1 second and BAM! Ship explodes and I'm back to the main menu ._.

Quick question: why do some Miis hold several pieces (ranging from 1 to 5 squares) in Monster Manor while others only have one?

I believe it's based on their level. Miis you've only passed one have only 1 piece while higher leveled miis will have multiple.

I'm pretty certain Miis just have extra pieces in their selection if you've met them in mansion more than once. On the tenth time they give you an extra gift too.

I've no idea what triggers teaming up, though. Definitely seems to happen more often when I have a lot of Miis in the queue, but I dunno.

Teaming-Up is only with someone who has played the game.

But I've only teamed-up 3 times and I feel like I have passed a greater number of people who have played the game.

Yeah. I regularly StreetPass my wife and she plays the game too yet I've only twice had the team up option. I've probably StreetPassed her around 60 times since we both bought the games. Maybe it won't work if she's first in the queue?

I'm still pretty stressed out and frustrated about losing over a million soldiers to the emperor. I'll never get those back via StreetPass alone. I dunno what I'm gonna do.

I am a 30 year old man.

I figured as much. The ones that had 5 pieces have been tagged more than 150 times, the rest of the Miis with only 1 piece had < 7 tags.
I wonder how many tags are needed to level up on Monster Manor.
I can definitely see why some people are having a hard time making rooms of the same colors and getting golden chests, since for those low level Miis you don't have many options (either on color or piece size).

Not sure. Multiple Streetpass hits? Having multiple Miis of the same colour next to each other in the queue?
That's definitely not it.

That's not it. Those Miis of 150+ tags have had 5 pieces since the very first moment I started the game.

I'm in Glasgow as well, yesterday was the first time I'd brought my 3DS into work since the update and I managed 9 streetpasses. Previous best was 3.

I've got it today as well so fingers crossed for more of the same.

I must remember to make my last played interesting. I'm thinking of either Snapdots or Pokemon Typing Adventure (if I had more money than sense I'd buy something like Postman Pat). I'd use Slide Adventure Mag Kid but nobody would get the joke which is
(it uses slot 2 on the DS as an optical mouse)

One tip with team-up. If you refuse, you will get an item instead. One guy gave me 2 items in fact (this was my first pass with them so I guess it is random).

As for the emperor. People on gamefaqs were saying his army is 8x yours when you first selected invade and I think they believed it was possible to beat him even if you have an army 1/16 of his (you just need a lot more luck). I'm not sure if home button ragequit works here to keep troops from dropping. I did not pay much attention as I'm way earlier in that game...

More specific observation of the mechanics in question
Like all games of chance some people think there is a pattern to it and claim adamantly that the emperor generally makes the same moves...

Only 10 Streetpasses today. Pretty disappointing.

11 Animal Crossing passes though, so that's either a lot of people not using the plaza, or I messed-up my queue at some point.

I bought Garden and Battle today since I already had the other two and like them. The latter seems fun but Garden?...

I planted a seed, a plant grew, I put it in the journal, my StreetPass people showed up in the garden and said hello and I think that's it. Did I miss something where a game happens? I'm not trying to be funny, I genuinely think I've missed something I'm meant to do here.

It's like Pokemon. Gotta breed em all.

It hasn't been partiularly difficult to get to 19 different breeds of flowers. You probably have to work a bit harder to go beyond that, though. Specifically selecting parent plants, using specific Streetpass Miis, getting different colours etc.

But mostly it's a game of accumulating numbers. And relaxation.

The game explodes after you grow 10 and 20 unique plant breeds. After 10 breeds, people you've Streetpassed multiple times begin "radiating friendship" (seriously, that's what he says) which is the key to creating seeds that grow into rare breeds. At 20, your seed capacity and journal are expanded, you get a ridiculous looking crown, and the real game starts.

The best thing about finishing the first 20 is that Mendel no longer feels the need to remind you what you are growing every single time you play. Thats worth it by itself.

Yet he still hangs out in your backyard shed like the biggest creeper ever. Seriously, does the guy just live there?

This made me laugh hard.

Seriously, the entire town is filled with serial killers. Theyre waaaay too happy. Im just waiting for the day when Ms Blossom snaps and I log on to find my garden stomped on and Mr Mendels head on the end of my rake.

Well, Mr. Mendel isn't exactly unarmed. He's always got that pair of shears on him. He'll definitely put up a good fight.

Most games in the Plaza just let you receive the StreetPass, you use the Miis, and you're done.

Garden is the only one that lets you do plenty of stuff between StreetPasses (planting seeds, arranging the garden, accepting jobs, etc.)

you guys are making flower town sound cool, and almost making me regret not buying the bundle :U

It annoyed me at first but you just roll with it and it starts to become hilarious. When they started talking about me getting better seeds because my street passes were "radiating friendship" and "you know youre going to get something good if you see a rainbow!", I lost it. Whoever put that game together was on something.

But its also charming in a way. The way all your streetpasses line up to excitedly water your plants for you as if thats the only reason they got up that morning. Its ridiculous.

I'm definitely more excited to play around with Garden than Squad or Battle these days.

Squad can just go away. I have such a love-hate relationship with it.
Battle sucks because Im at the final boss on my 2nd run through and he beat me twice :(
Mansion is ok but I hate managing my inventory.I sp with a lot of blues so I get a lot of chests and have to watch myself open 6 chests in a row every day and then go in and turn all my doubles into gems/upgrades. Its tiring
Gardening is mindless. I dont mind playing it because theres not much going on there. Its stress free. Maybe thats why everyone is always smiling.

None of the games are as bad as Find Mii 2, though. I swear, completing that was the best thing that ever happened to me.

Well, Mr. Mendel isn't exactly unarmed. He's always got that pair of shears on him. He'll definitely put up a good fight.

LOL!
Pitch this idea to Nintendo. Youre onto something here.

EDIT: Mendel can be the next Super Smash Bros reveal.

So I got some random special Mii from some Japanese comedian. I assume this is sent out randomly over Wifi or something? Unless Masaru Hamaguchi was visiting Harvard University.

Anyway it was pretty cool to see the sparkling Level 5 Mii and everything. Plus by being a special Mii he had all of the puzzles finished. :o

Special Miis usually come from SpotPass (wi-fi), yes. What region 3DS do you have?

Why are airports such terrible places to get tags? Been through Hartsfield, O'Hare (2x), Houston Int'l, and LAX and got 4 tags total... lol

On the bright side, I may have passed a gaffer at LAX (Miktar, unless it was someone else by that name).
