3DS Streetpass Experiences

So weird. AC is my most common relay get.
Yup, for me too.

Probably some of the best StreetPass functionality too IMO. I had to stop using it because I didn't want to overwrite houses but I didn't want to favourite everything either (and there's a limit).

Side note: Arcade Mii Force is pissing me the fuck off.

I always get NSMB2 tags. I'm actually sick of coin rush. So many tags I get are with White Raccoon Mario so there is no challenge in actually beating them. Plus it seems like I get so many of the same stages/packs.

Does anyone have or know of someone that has all the accomplishments yet? Some of them are nigh impossible unless you go to gaming conferences.

I have 69 and no hope of ever getting them all. Before they updated they were extremely difficult, now they're impossible.
I've read that a couple of people got them all before the new ridiculous ones were added but I've never found out if doing so actually earned you anything.....

My queue of these is full of stages I can't play due to lack of progress or are DLC stages I don't own (dumb decision, they should have made it so a non-DLC score was always passed).

Haven't read through the thread but can you actually meet people through Streetpass?

You can send short personalised messages to people you have met more than once.

But considering you would have to pass each other again to continue the conversation, it's a rather inefficient way to communicate.

Yeah that annoys me, especially since the game keeps tracks of how many passes you've received vs how many you've beaten.

So I StreetPassed someone with a Korean 3DS. The name and the message couldn't be recognized, I guess since the firmware doesn't have the Korean character set. lol

Anyone know if the Japanese 3DS is different, or can only a Korean 3DS can properly display them?

sat in a Starbucks for maybe 2 minutes and then 5 minutes in Home Depot parking lot. Both of them are usually less than 20 seconds for me but neither registered, boo

I've never passed a Korean 3DS so I couldn't tell you, but that's surprising. NA 3DSes have no issues displaying Japanese and the reverse is also true.

Yeah, which surprised me. Now with China opening up to video game consoles, hopefully if there's going to be more stuff like StreetPass in the future, they'll incorporate these other Asian character sets into their system.

I'd love to be able to type in other regions' languages too, but that's another thing to hope for.

Guys, some help please.

I'm in Toronto, and I want to get some streetpasses. If I go to the local McDonald's, would I get any hits? Do I need to go into the Nintendo Zone app, or will it just pick them up normally?

Thanks for the help.

I street passed this kid that couldn't be more than five as I was leaving a restaurant and he and his keepers were entering.

make sure wifi is on, street/spot pass are on, and you're on the home menu (this was my problem from earlier, I was in a game). Have the 3DS in sleep mode, meaning closed. Keep an eye on the green light and when it turns on, you've got Miis!

In Monster Manor, this morning I completed a 3x7 with a 5x1:

What a feeling of satisfaction. AFAIK this produces the highest yield of chests possible. I believe the number was 12 (well, 11 with one green orb) with 7 of those being gold.

I live in small town Connecticut, so I haven't gotten many passes. But I took my 2DS with me on my trip to Chicago and in a 1.5 hour span in Chicago O'Hare airport I picked up 85 streetpasses. This must be how it feels to have a 2DS in Japan.

I live in a relatively small town in Florida and I've gotten 13 streetpasses in the course of about 30 days. I'm guessing if I went to Miami or when I go back to New York, my numbers will explode.

What are people's thoughts on the four "new" Streetpass games? Would they be useful for someone that gets maybe 4-5 passes a day and the 10 play coins. Would you say they're worth the $15?

FWIW I never found Find Mii all that fun because of the randomness involved to get the right colors, and Puzzle Swap is just busy work in my opinion. I do like the concept of Streetpass a lot though, so if the games are good, I'm definitely interested.

Dang, which terminal were you in? I barely get any when I go through there.

They're ok additional distractions for StreetPasses, but individually, you're not going to find really deep interesting gameplay (and some of the games depends heavily on the shirt colors like Find Mii). Overall though, if you want something to use your daily coins on and more chance to get hats, it's not a bad deal.

Still working on StreetPassing.com and have a fair few games up on there now.

Looking for someone with any of the following games and who got StreetPass data for them:

KORG M01D, Snow Moto Racing 3D, Mahjong 3D - Essentials, Fish On 3D, Dillon's Rolling Western: The Last Ranger, Aqua Moto Racing 3D, Bugs vs Tanks, Denpa Men 2: Beyond the Wave, Alien Chaos 3D, Splash or Crash, Aero Porter, Block Factory.

In Denpa Men 2, streetpasses get you time on your lamp. The lamp is used to explore dark dungeons. Without a lamp, you can't go into the dungeon. I don't know the EN name for the lamp or the dungeon, sorry

I just checked my streetpasses and 7 people got my lamp to 1 min, 40 sec, so I'm guessing you get 20 seconds per streetpass. You can also see the team data of the person you streetpassed, such as the team members, the hero's level, the amount of game playtime, the number of dungeons the streetpasser cleared, the number of denpa men they've collected, etc.

I got all tickets for Flower Town. Is it possible to turn off the notification exclamation for that game since I don't want to play it anymore (having all tickets)?

Maaaybe if you raise all 80 flowers? Haven't gotten that far to find out myself (sitting at 62/80 and I have probably 3 or 4 more new breeds in pots but not yet grown).

No it isn't. You'll just have to ignore it. The only one that the notification turns off on (automatically) is puzzle swap if you get all the pieces.

I got the firmware update today and a SpotPass notification about a new puzzle (EU) but I don't have one, and searching for a Plaza update it tells me it's up to date. Anyone else get this?

That's wonderful, thanks!

I was wondering, without Denpa Men 1, is it worth getting Denpa Men 2?

I am mostly done with Mii Force and I'm actually enjoying it more than ever.

The only ticket I have left is the one for accumulating all of the reputations. At first I was annoyed at how many I had left to get but, ultimately, this motivated me to replay all of the levels in normal mode to try to achieve high scores. This has definitely given me the most enjoyment that I have had with the title. Prior to this I had just felt like I was grinding and I hadn't given much care to my performance. Now I actually feel engaged.

Playing one level at a time to try to achieve a high score suddenly feels like the best possible way to experience a shoot-em-up. It kind of gives the same feeling that I get from playing NES Remix.

If you are interested in the Denpa Man series, Denpa Men 2 is a straight upgrade and there is no reason to get 1. The first game is basically a map that you select dungeons from whereas the second game is more like a fully fleshed out RPG with an overworld, towns, online and streetpass functionality, and side things you can do such as fishing or growing flowers.

I recently got a 3DS while visiting my family for Christmas in Las Vegas getting a few street passes. Then I returned home to Tokyo. Going through Shibuya just walking by the Hachiko statue for maybe 5 minutes on my way to my train I got 100 street passes, and everyone I pass with seems to have every single puzzle piece there is. It's crazy how easy it is here in Japan to street pass at least in Tokyo.

I was in Terminal 3. I walked down the H&K Concourses mostly. Starbucks & McDonalds are Nintendo partners, so they will hold streetpasses for a period of time. So I got that count by walking the concourses and stopping by those stores.
Ah, ok. I typically travel in and out of T2, and it's never easy to get many. The next time I'm there and have a couple hours to spare, I guess I'll stroll around the other terminals.

What's everyone playing?

do you actually get 100 streetpasses or does it cap off at 10 until you clear them from the plaza?

I always say :

Non JP 3DSs need to raise the amount of coins you get by walking in ridiculous ways to compensate lack of streetpass =P

I think it would also help if they could scale the games for each region. The simplest example of this would be requiring more/less pieces for each puzzle.

I only mean this as a hypothetical suggestion as I doubt they could actually do this.

Its crazy the amount of people that have A Link Between Worlds. I'm averaging a few new battles a week.

I hardly get any.

It's probably a result of the 6-plaza-pass update. I'm targeting a lot fewer relays now and almost all of the game-specific passes have taken a hit.

If you've ever had a white-shirted Mii at any point you can rehire them for that room.
When that wasn't an option, some of the needed colour combinations were so painful :(

For nearly a year and a half I didn't have any whites.
I now have some, but that was painful.

For other's convenience, I made myself white, although it's a nice color so I've stuck with it. It also makes me a bit more memorable in Kid Icarus: I am the White Reaper.

Finally ran into a Bravely Default one out of six I streetpassed at an gaming industry event thing. I should have been maxed out, dammit. Least one of them had a pink Chibi Robo puzzle piece.

Some scaling would be nice with certain games, for sure. Animal Crossing, for example, requires you to get 1000 StreetPasses to get the gold medal from Phineas.

That gold streetpass medal in AC is one of the few things keeping me going in that came.

I calculated that I would probably get it before the end of 2013, but then the relay expansion actually hurt my trajectory.
