I have read some very interesting leaks about the 2 new games that are making Bluepoint exclusively for PS5.
Jek and Daxter Re-Trilogy as PS5 launch title, and Legacy of Kain Remake, exclusive for PS5, for 2021

With an announcement that seems planned, for both, for the Summer Game Fest

P.S.: Hype over 9999 :messenger_smiling_hearts:

Assuming this is true, Jak and Daxter remastered for PS5 launch will be great.

Legacy of Kain remake is a grand slam. Take my money now.

Hopefully this is true, guess we will find out tomorrow?

I also hope it is true.
Especially for the welcome return of Legacy of Kain :messenger_smiling_hearts:

P.S .: what happens tomorrow?

Legacy of Kain has great lore and characters. If they are able to get the voice actors it will be amazing.
I really liked Defiance for the DMC-like combat system.

Jak and Daxter is nice, never played, but it looks more like a family/children's game (sort of like Ratchet). Not going to motivate me to buy the PS5 but having that kind of variety is good.

Legacy of kain . Wow where to start it was looking so good at time with all those soul flying effects and movements where just great. Not sure how it could be on this day and on what engine...maybe we will see soon if its true

So is it a requirement for any dark, gothic inspired games, remakes or new IP's to be "Souls like"?

I find it interesting the idea of partially reinventing the gameplay of the game, perhaps managing to get a result similar to Bloodborne.
But always maintaining its nature of action adventure game.

It could be a winning move to bring new fans closer to a franchise like this.

Legacy of Kain is one of my favorite games.

I really wonder how they would be able to match the voice casting of the original. IMO, it was one of the best ever to this day.

Doubt either rumor is true.

Jak and Dexter sucked after the original. Jak 2 was a sign of the times. Every game needs to have GTA elements. Every game needs to be dark and edgy.

As fond as I am of the narrative and voice work in Legacy of Kain, I don't think the brain dead combat and box pushing puzzles would hold up very well. Hell, Soul Reaver 2 felt dated when it released.

As far as modernizing them, especially in the case of Soul Reaver, that sounds expensive relative to the market appeal. Also, is is that exactly Blue Points forte?

That would be a really awesome launch game. I'd be happy with that if they pushed the hell out of the visuals and put out a really cool platformer collection.

Obviously the "reimagining" part of it would have to be strong. I wouldn't want just the same experience again. It worked for the Spyro trilogy maybe, but I don't see it working as well for the Jak series.

Man, this better be fake. Don't pump me up for Demon's Souls and then give me freaking Jak and Daxter instead.

Demon Souls is the safe bet. It would be system seller and would have an even larger audience thanks to how well the Soul series had done.

hope they bring back Simon templeman To voice kain if true.

Even though I think this rumor is fake, I googled Richard Doyle to make sure he was still alive.

Legacy of Kain with HD graphics and instant switches between realms. I'm not sure that would be possible on current gen consoles/majority of PC's due to texture streaming. I'm excited for this if true!

They already did so with that cancelled "Sun I don't know what" game, in PS3/360.

Well if you go by the wording of the rumors of what blue point is working on, this fits perfectly!

Another day, another 4chan rumor...

Also it just says Legacy of Kain, but which one? Blood Omen? Soul Reaver?

They will probably go in order starting from the first one released on PS1.

A return of a great IP like Legacy of Kain would be a Megaton HYPE announcement for me.

It would be cool if it were Jak and Daxter, because I highly doubt many PS5 or Series X games will go for that aesthetic. Seeing that kind of hardware dedicated towards an animated look, could give us a Pixar-like aesthetic.

Think i'm going to start a reddit post about PS5 launch titles and see how many hits it gets.

Thanks for the laughs OP, I needed it

True

A great return for Jak and Daxter with this Re-Trilogy can be really awesome with the current technology :messenger_smiling_hearts:

And a pretty good DayOne game, ready for the PS5 DayOne

JEK and Daxter would be a very surprising title.

Everybody talking about Ratchet, Crash 4, Demon Souls, but we'll get JEK and Daxter instead... Not bad, I have a lot of memories with the first two games.

I hope it's true, I JEK you not

Legacy of Kain seems too good to be true. Why. Why I am given hope by this. I never trust these leaks and give in. I never do. But please, please let it be true if only this time.

I always wanted to play those jak games, but never could really afford that many games back then. If this is real, I'd definitely give it a shot and like someone said, I doubt any other game at launch will go for that type of esthetic. Bring on the ToyStory 4 graphics :messenger_tears_of_joy: I'll always remember seeing those movies and thinking "One day games will look that good and I'll get to play them!"

I always thought Legacy looked good as well, but never had much money growing up. Play the hell out of the demo's tho. I'd be interested in what kind of direction they went for the remake.
