ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —
A five-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed himself Tuesday afternoon, according to Orange County deputies.

Investigators said the child somehow fired the gun inside the family's vehicle in a parking lot around 4:00 p.m.

The child was driven to Florida Hospital East where he was pronounced dead.

Deputies said the weapon belonged to a family member.

Investigators said the shooting appeared to be accidental and will now be turned over to the State Attorney's office.

Holy fuck that’s depressing. Parents should be charged with murder for leaving a fucking loaded gun within a 5yo reach.

Just another example to throw on the pile for the price of Freedom™, right America? What a brave sacrifice that little boy has made for us all......................................

Some guns get advertised because it's just point and shoot. Easy peasy.

FFS. This is not that far from me. Irresponsible pieces of shit. Who the hell leaves a 5 year old alone with an unsecured gun? Should face at least negligent homicide charges.

Something something, mental health?

(Who knew that such things would happen if you handed out guns like candy?)

Parents will defo go to jail for this. Total travesty if they don’t.
DAs never file charges in these insistence’s since the death of the child is considered tragic enough. Not that I agree, but I’ve never seen a charge go through on accidental discharge.

it just doesn't stop

RIP young, unnamed boy

EDIT
The system failed the kid

You're right. We live in a society that repeatedly produces this outcome. These are not freak incidents but predictable policy consequences. Society permits this.

Leave a kid in a car with a loaded gun... like a more fucked up version of leaving your kid to bake in the heat of the car. Criminal negligence is what call it.

Not the time to talk about guns, guys.

We need to have a week with no gun deaths in America to talk about guns.
