As of today, I am posting for five years on this wonderful forum. It has been a great pleasure and all round nice experience.

It's my favorite forum on the Internet.

A big "thank you!" to EviLore, the admins, the mod squad and all of you other posters for that wonderful experience.

I am looking forward for the next years to come.

Just wanted to get that off my chest.

Nice. I don't post very often but just checked my profile and I'm a few days off 7 years here. It certainly doesn't feel like that long.

I'm just guessing really. I know it's either 98 or 99. I posted here, and at NGO forums. Then when NGO tanked it was here and Game assault but I drifted apart from those guys.
 
I joined a few months after the Dreamcast came out. Over 11 years. Sheesh.

That's when GAF was on Ezboards?

I vaguely remember lurking the GAF Ezboard. I think I joined the board after the ezboard collapse.

Congrats. :) I didn't realize that you joined the same year I did (my 5th year anniversary is August 3rd).

The only thing I remember of GAF circa 1998 was someone pointing me to a site that had copies of Panzer Dragoon Saga in stock.

I still have it. :(

yeah, i think i came onto GAF during ezboards days. i was referred to it from the "GameCube Underground" board on IGN, which was like some private thing. I think I was called Weatherwax on the IGN boards

I signed up to GAF under a different name, "Macerate". i think Mike_Works was still a mod back then and I asked him in a PM to change it to Scrow.

I have no idea why i remember all this shit.
 
I can't say anything other than that I've loved most of the posts that I've noticed you made. You made me feel comfortable at a time when I was well hated. GRANTED it was because my username is german, but still. FUCKING STILL.<# I've been here since '01 or '02.
 
i tried to join this forum a long ass time ago because i thought it was a Neo Geo forums and i wanted tips on buying one.

I've left GAF so many times out of boredom. I notice my current join date is about 9 months after Cosmic Bus. Probably means it took me that long to come back after one of the resets. I always find my way back though...

I'm a little young to really have been on here any earlier, but it's been great while I have. I hope to be able stick around for years to come; I love it here. Have never been banned, so I hope I'll be able to haha.

Congrats. I remember when I first discovered GAF. It was like I had been in Plato's Cave for years, then I found GAF. That you have been here five years makes me realize I am nothing more than a padawan surrounded by wise elders.

edit: I'm an Idiot padawan (sic?)
 
when did gaf begin? i only signed up on 16th august 2009, although i remember having to wait for months to get membership activated. been good though, learnt new things, played new games, made a few friends, and most importantly gaf made me a pc gamer

it's funny how many people from the old days stuck around pretty much the entire time. i think it's a big reason why gaf is pretty good. lots of longstanding members but also a reasonable pace of new members so it's a nice balance
 
I signed up about 3 years ago... Never got approved...
Deleted my account and recreated this one with a new email earlier this year.. got approved this week...
