If I was serious about GAF I might consider changing it to 100ppp, but then I'd be admitting to myself that I'm serious about GAF.
Around at least six years, thousands of posts, pony avatar. Stop the denial!

50 > 500 > 100

That is: 50 posts per page means more page loads means more ad impressions means more rupies for GAF means more upgraded hardware means fewer 500 errors.
Also helping fewer 500 errors: fewer page loads.

set your posts to 100 per page, then go to the google search top right and type
'defender chronicles' take the first result and then try and find that post on that page.

Now do it with 50 posts per page.

50 posts per page is superior because it is search compatible.

to relate to your example:

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=site:neogaf.net+defender+chronicles

I'm only logged in on neogaf.com (with 100 ppp) and not neogaf.net, so I get the 50 ppp view for the search results.

(and if you want to quote/edit the post you found, just click it's number so you get the specific post ID and change the .net to .com)

50 PPP = metric master race
100 PPP = imperial backwoods cousin bangers
Actually, you got it the wrong way. 50 ppp are the imperial system users, those who can't adapt to the future and keep on using the inferior system because they dislike change.

100 ppp are those who found that there is a vastly superior and far more logical option of performing even the most mundane of activities and are always keen on the next big thing instead of being stuck in the past. Thus, just like metric master race, find 100 ppp the preferable choice.

I tried 100 post per page, and immediately went back to 50. It's a pain to scroll past 99 post to see the newest. Also it is especially annoying on my laptop and phone.

If you look at SolidusDave's post, you see that the 100pp users have to do weird conversion tricks to make things work, just like imperial system users. 50pp users don't have any problems because they're using the general default system that cannot be misunderstood. 50pp = master race.

Typing "'defender chronicles' site:neogaf.com" into your browser's search bar and clicking the "cached" link on Google > 50 posts per page.

meh, don't insult the metric system with your analogy.
The metric system is decimal. Therefore 100 ppp it is.

50's better since it loads faster. Especially if you go to something like the PC screenshot thread where there is a ton of images to download or something.

Cllick on the little NeoGAF logo next to the thread? Not really that difficult

100 > 50 EXCEPT in the PC Screenshots thread.

50 ppp is alot better on mobiledevices. Less data transferred and it's more compact and lighter for the phone.

I changed to 100 during E3 and I'm okay with it so far, however it's a nightmare in picture threads. The scroll thing on the right turns so small and you just end up scrolling for so much time without a break, so for those threads with lots of pics I switch to 50.

I tried 100 during the E3 threads since they were going so fast but when I did I ended up in some weird time-space bubble where sometimes it would bring up some new stuff but not all of it and other times nothing would happen and I knew there were new posts. Switched back to 50 and it was flawless.

Switched to 100 because catching up on the entire Jbaird thread was annoying at 50 ppp.
Haven't looked back since.

usually when this comes up, the 50 post peasants retreat into their hiding places and the member who never knew that you could have 100 posts a page is wisely educated. now, the peasants are fighting back.

up with the elite, down with the peasants.

It's called using basic math to figure out the page it will be on. Holy shit.

You are using the secondapps mobile version of GAF, right? The number of ppp is almost completely irrelevant on there.

Only used 50 when I first started out here, then switched over to 100 after discovering it in the settings.

Despite all the scrolling at times - particularly in fast-moving threads - it's a lot easier to get through the content, particularly when at work. Also, I find it stupid when people have to re-quote a statement/pic/gif for 'a new page' when it's really just a few posts above.
