After seeing the reviews and comparisons they could be pink with feathers and Id still want a pairD:
Mic controls? NEVER! I do need to start looking for a replacement though.

The price of the MH1 places them right into impulse buy territory. They just look like a real nice beater pair. I might just grab a pair to try them out, my sister needs a new pair anyhow. That'll be my excuse lol
I bought them in hopes of staving off my purchase of Westone 3s or IE8s. I didn't even read up on them before buying them, but I assume that they're bass-centric? I looked around head fi and only saw someone rate them as 11/10 lol.
Go a page back and look at the review I posted.
The headphones I use to workout with broke today. I need something that will stay in place when running and has an inline mic for $50 or less. Listen to a lot of bass music and edm. Maybe a good Cyber Monday deal? Thanks.
Anyone?

Hey guys, not sure this is allowed, but I'm getting out of the headphones thing, I have a pair of Denon D7000 I need to get rid and a Sparrow amp I'm driving them with. If anyone is interested. Figured I'd give GAF first dibs, I know a few interested parties already in case not.
Anyone?
MEElec CC51p is your best choice.
If you can't find those, Brainwavz M5 with inline controlsMEElec CC51p is your best choice.
I was really inching towards the K81s but I just looked up the cable length and it's 8 feetYou're asking for a lot for 50 bucks.
A few ideas that come to mind;
1. Koss Pro DJ100. Holy shit there's one refurbished at $35, that's a steal! These fold flat, have quite a punch in the bass and isolate quite well. The low price is off-set by the fact that, IMO, these need a portable amp (a cheap Fiio E5 would do) more than your average budget headphone.
2. Soundmagic P30. Welp, they are just in your budget and no more. They sound pretty good though not as good as the Koss. Warm and Sweet are the key words. Again these fold flat and have pretty good isolation. No amp required.
3. AKG K81DJ. Now this is more like it. I happen to be a pretty big AKG fan, so take any gushing you see me do about the brand with a grain of salt. That said, these are pretty good headphones, considering their vintage. They fold. They isolate better than the Soundmagic and Koss. Again warm and sweet/forward bass and mids, rolled off treble. Detail/Microdetail is behind the Koss, but then they are quite a bit cheaper. Bass might be a bit much depending on what you're looking for. No amp required.
518s aint all that anywayRebought ATH A700's from BeachCamera (ATH Authorized), for 89$. Factory Refurbished. Sending HD518's back, just not feeling them. Now that I've used head-wings for 3 years, I can't live without them. I'm stuck in my ways.
The JVC HA-S400 may be another choice for you.I was really inching towards the K81s but I just looked up the cable length and it's 8 feet
How can I deal with this? Using plastic tighteners sounds obvious but I'm worried it would be too cumbersome and not worth it. I just want something like the PX100s, but closed or semi-closed, and not overpriced.
GR02 Bass EditionThe Sony MDR-EX32s I've been using are starting to give out. Kinda wish they still had them or were easy to find. I kinda want to upgrade but stay around a 50-60$ price range for IEMs.
I've been looking for a while but I kinda settled on the MDREX210 and I'm just trying to get ahold of a pair, but are there any other suggestions? I really won't pick up any Y-corded headphones, but that's about it, they have to be J-corded, even if I usually just leave it hanging around my chin rather than on my neck. Don't care if it has inline controls or not (don't miss them) or really much else.
Ya ever start something then feel completely overwhelmed causing you to regress into something comforting, backburner-ing the thing that frustrated you in the first place? That's where I'm at with my current home theater build, and I'm choosing to find comfort in a nice new pair of cans.
I previously asked in this thread about the Amperiors, then started reading up on the Momentums, then figured I'd get some more advice here before potentially pulling the trigger. Pretty big Sennheiser fan, but not wedded to them by any means!
I currently have a pair of weathered PXC 450s; for a while I definitely didn't treat them as well as I should've as my daily commuting headphones. They've been subject to weather that active noise canceling headphones never should be, and that has left them sounding a little wonky when in that mode (somehow they're more bass-y with ANC ON, which is a complete flip from how they were for the first couple years! They're not very bass-y to begin with, though.). I replaced the weather-damaged ear pads (literally "rotted" through the first set), so they work great in bypass mode (provided one can put up with the damn flutter / take out the battery) and OK in ANC mode. ANYWAY! I want something new; here are my needs:
I listen to all kinds of music, from jazz to nerdcore hiphop, but I spend most of my time listening to metal. Punchy bass is somewhat important, but I don't want it to overwhelm.
My primary source would be my iPhone (or my total bithead if I could ever find it...), so I'd like something with a mic cable w/ playback buttons. I've been going walkie talkie-style on the phone for far too long!
Can't stand IEMs, like closed headphones.
Do a TON of commuting on public transportation; subways are very loud so noise attenuation is important. Don't necessarily need active canceling, but it has been pretty nice to have.
I am not averse to spending $350-500+ but would consider great headphones at lower prices too!
Thoughts appreciated! Love this thread, been lurking it since it went up with a desire to post more!
After much deliberation post-XB500s breaking, I went one step up and ordered the ATH-M50 with the coiled cable. $105 shipped from Amazon. I don't think my ears (or wallet) are finely tuned enough for a higher quality product just yet.
I wanted the white so badly but I just know they'll get filthy within a month's time.
Partially as a celebration for receiving half a million views I'm going to be overhauling the OP a bit, the plan was to include links to reviews for each recommendation but I'm pretty sure the text limit is going to be a problem. So I'm going to have to trim down things and also maybe think about finding a way to shorten each purchase link.
Yeah, I've decided those are the ones. Head-Fi loves them after burning in and custom pads. The JVC HA-S400 may be another choice for you.
I got my Logitech G930s from Amazon yesterday and my ears...it feels like my ears is having a constant orgasm. I know many say these are not as good as regular old 2.0 headphones on a good sound card but these things are amazing.
I have not had full receiver and surround sound setup since early 2000's so I have been missing a lot in my games and these things perfectly simulate that bliss of sound that surrounded me back then.
I was playing Sleeping Dogs and the amount of sound coming from every where brought so much new life into the game. Then I played Black Ops II, WOW, I stepped on some train tracks and then the train started coming and I almost fell over as it scared the shit out of me. I can almost pinpoint where dudes are coming from. My goodness.
Amazing headphones. Now I'm considering getting rid of my Wireless Sennheiser and getting the Logitech F540 for my consoles.
Like others, I am in the market for a pair of closed headphones in the general price range of $100 - $150. I already own a pair of Sennheiser HD-595s, but they are and will remain my at-home listening headphones. I would like to get something comparable in quality, while at the same time remaining in that price range. Main uses will be for out and about listening, at the gym, or traveling, so they need to be able to be easily powered by an ipod or other mp3 player and fairly durable. Right now I'm looking at these pairs:
Ultrasone DJ1 PRO
Audio Technica ATH-M50 (White)
Denon DNHP700 Pro
Leaning towards the M50s at the moment, because out of that bunch, they are the most aesthetically pleasing. Any recommendations or advice would be awesome!

Why not consider the M80s now that they are about $150
So Headphone-GAF, I was thinking of picking up some better headphones. I don't anything too expensive right now since I don't think I have any song that needs super good quality. Right now all I have are $10 Philips earbuds with a very short cord and I want to replace it for home use. You may now laugh at my sad setup.
I was thinking of getting the Sennheiser HD 202. Is there any other headphones I should be looking for in that price range? Also what are good ear buds for ~$30. Preferably longer than a 3 ft cord which I have now.
I'm actually using something similar (probably the same) as these.
I'll check out those Superlux. Thanks.

I just found a pair V-MODA Crossfade LP2's for $120 near my house. Should I bite? I listen mostly to rock and a little bit of hip-hop.
Hey headphone gaf, what do you think is the best cheap-ish headphone for classical/jazz/occasional rock music? Anything up to ~$120/£80 is good. Has to be over-ear and preferably closed.
Oh and also, is a 3.5mm extension cable going to have any noticeable affect on sound quality for headphones at this price?
Not when the M80s can be had for $150
