56kers on Nintendo DS online? EWWW.

radrelic

You like me, you really really like me!
Broadband connections aren't required - EWWW.

Nintendo better have some good netcode because I don't want laggy ass games of Mario Kart DS!!

How many people on dialup even have a wireless access point? I suppose there's USB but really, can't imagine many people with 56K going online with the DS.

True, I think that would be painful.

I was pondering this when watching the stream.

Maybe by "no broadband required" he meant "get your ass out to a hotspot you cheap bastards"?

Remember, Nintendo's coming out with their own "simple to use" router.
I predict it will be included with Animal Crossing DS or some other online enabled DS title.

DAMN HPBS!

I hope Revolution has built in ethernet. I really don't want to buy a wireless router just to play Rev online. It has the USB 2 ports, but then I need an adapter...

Eh,DSL isn't all the expensive yaknow. You can pass up those $40-50 dollar packages and buy a more modest 27 dollar one like SBC offers instead. One thing that will indeed be nasty is when you have dial up users slowing down the games on Nintendo's network. I'm not damning dial up users btw-because up until last year thats all I had,god bless you folks because you have alot of patiance, heh. But ultimately I don't like mixing both communities on a gaming service.

$27 on top of my like $30 phonebill = ouch. I ain't got money to burn on unneeded stuff.

In any case......... *does the Mario*

It's not always a matter of money. Some of us just don't have any broadband options. I live in the middle of nowhere, and the only broadband option I have is sattelite, which is useless for gaming.

There's a monopoly on broadband here, there's no SBC or shit like that ... so the least expensive option is like 40, 50 dollars at least last I checked.
