NeoGAFs Kent Brockman

You are a ruthless mercenary, sent to the condemned remains of Earth as part of a covert operation codenamed "Forsaken." Your mission is to infiltrate and destroy the last bastions of the mechanized terror that wiped out all life on the planet. Earth is a death trap riddled with merciless mechanoid adversaries and gangs of rival bounty hunters, and you'll have to brave them all astride your anti-grav pioncycle to make your fortune...or meet your doom. Choose between different modes in this first-person shooter title released for the Nintendo 64™ system in 1998, and enter the fight in Single Player Mode or Multi-Player Mode. Then, select your bike. Each bike has different attributes, each biker a different attitude. Pick one that suits your style, then dive into your mission. The availability of weapons, enemies, and powerups changes depending on the level you play, so stay sharp!

We would call this a Descent clone back in the day
Old Man Smile GIF by F*CK, THAT'S DELICIOUS

I remember playing this on PS1 and liking it, just like Descent. It would be nice if it came to modern PS consoles using Sony's current emulator.

For those without Switch (but PC) Desecrators is a fresh, authentically old school take on the genre that's great (and still updated and fine tuned even past the 1.0 launch out of early access). I imagine console ports are plausible despite its so far understated success (high reviews, low numbers).

I only saw this game on a TV show gaming of México ... But it went unnoticed. Even now, the game is more or less good.

Are N64 games cleaned up for the Switch Online service? I felt like this game looked pretty sharp on the announcement trailer they made for it. Like the reflective lighting from lasers in the game looked pretty impressive to me.

Voiced stuff on a cartridge was unreal back in the day. Overall it was pointless to do that, a text message would have not been worse, just the usual N64 approach but someone had to do nonsense. lol
Liked that game. Descent or Aquanox (or PC Forsaken) on PC with mouse never felt as intuitive, I guess because the N64 controller was still new enough to really get used to the certainly slightly more complex controls. Orientation was never a problem, probably because at many points it would rotate you to a default and you did not actually use a lot more axis than any other regular shooter needed.
By todays bloated standard it is probably rather short, but like everything on N64 without any fat.

Seeing that cover picture of the girls face is probably confusing a lot of people, made me double take to remember there isn't two Forsaken titles.

Descent is better anyway, still have the original floppies

Used to see the commercials for this all the time back in the day. Felt like that girls face was on all the WWF shows for months. Might be time to check out.

i remember this game. i think we rented it from BB for a sleepover at a friends house and played multiplayer. i never understood the box art. i remember seeing it in full page ads in the magazines. super random.

I have the night dive remake. Didn't they put that version on switch already? If so, why would anybody buy this version, other than for the N64 look and the choppy frame rate?

I've been playing this for quite a while. It's so damned good!

This is one of the few games I always wanted to rent but never got around to doing so. It's probably one of the only N64 games I haven't tried, tbh.

I'm genuinely excited to give this a whirl. So far, a few of the released N64 games have performance improvements in frame rate, so hopefully this one is also stable.

NES, SNES, GBA, GEN, N64, Gamecube, Gameboy, and even original sub exclusive titles for Switch 1.

But yeah, sure.

False equivalency to compare any ROM to a new release.

If they released them for purchase it would be "OMG greedy Nintendo asking $14.99 for an old ass N64 game" -- they never win with the online crowd.
