Okay, cheers to Eternal Sunshine and Sideways winning! Also great to see Arrested Development grab a win, especially for one of my top couple favorite episodes!

But now here's what gets me. What's the deal with the television animated category? Check this out:

STARCROSSED (Justice League), Cartoon Network

CATCH ‘EM IF YOU CAN (The Simpsons), Fox

Now I've only seen three or four episodes of The Simpsons over the last season and a half and I don't believe any of these... but c'mon! I find it extremely hard to believe that The Simpsons has had four brilliant episodes that tops everything else being done in animation. Is this some bullshit where all the good shows and writers are somehow ineligible? Where's South Park, or even the last four episodes of Samurai Jack, especially the Tale of X9 episode? This just seems so incredibly sad to me. I don't care so much that it won, as maybe that episode was a diamond in the rough, but FOUR nominations? That seems ludicrous.

Chili Con Carnage!
Catch 'em if you can did actually look really good but thats hardly reason for it to win a writers award, i guess in the days with no Futurama, or Seth MacFarlane productions on the air, its a one horse race, and the horse had serious birth defects and 3 lame legs, and a sumo wrestler for a jockey.

A crack smoking sumo wrestler jockey.
