Pug said:Its the physics engine in this game thats interetsing as there a are pre canned animations. In the Demo wait till all the cars race past the gargae them blow the Petrol pumps up. Its amazing what happens and its different on each game, if your lucj the explostion will a cause structures from garage to collide with the other cars mathem ensues. I really enjoyed the demo and hope the full game is as much fun.
exactly. more and more polys will only take you so far. soon we will be doubling poly counts for virtually no noticeable upgrade in quality whatsoever.hukasmokincaterpillar said:Yeah, definitely. And its a shame people arent noticing this more. The static visuals are decent but who gives a crap about screen caps in a game like this. This is the first 360 title that seems to really make use on the CPU end of things. The physics, collisions, particles etc. look a solid notch above anything Ive seen on the current gen. Its what next gen Burnout should be going for. Now I just hope it they can get it at 60fps cause all that chaos will look amazing at that rate.

Shogmaster said:The CES build was so much better than the marketplace demo:
1. Smoother framerate - 45~60 with drop to 30s when things go crazy instead of drops to 20s of the demo.
2. None of that annoying short pauses during gameplay that I had in the demo.
3. Better reflections on your car when driving in 3rd person camera.
And the build featured mch more game modes then the demo as well. Really shaping up nicely.
eshwaaz said:Do the explosions actually have a sound effect now? I enjoyed the OXM demo quite a bit, but something that bothered me (and bothers me in all of the video I've seen) is that the explosions are silent. You can hear tires screeching, engines revving, and glass shattering, but an entire gas station exploding next to you makes no sound. The only time a blast makes a sound is when get a close up of an opponent's car exploding, and even that's more of an accent effect than an explosion sound.
I'm really looking forward to the final version, but little things like that really bother me.
