8-16bit "demakes" of non-game songs?

The video game Vanguard actually had 8 bit versions of the Star Trek The Motion Picture theme and Queen's Attack of the Hawkmen (from Flash Gordon)

The latter actually made it into the 2600 version of the game.

There's some badass 8-bit versions of songs by my favourite band of all-time, punk/metal band Strung Out, floating around YouTube that sound really cool, especially since they have such complex instrumentals and unique melodies that weirdly work well in 8-bit form.

This awesome rendition of Strung Out's "Never Speak Again" has less than 300 views which makes me sad.

There's also this really cool "Punk Goes 8-Bit" album on YouTube that features a bunch of 8-bit renditions of great punk songs (like NOFX, Blink 182, No Use For a Name, Lagwagon etc.) and it opens with a Strung Out track.

This is awesome!
