Yep, that's usually how it goes. There are a couple exceptions (like last year), but most of the time it's pretty clear.

And the DGA award is also the most reliable way of predicting Best Picture, which is why the smart money has been on Gravity winning BP and BD. We'll see what happens.

Gravity was a great SciFi thriller with absolutely nothing grounded in SciFact. It did look beautiful.. can't take that away from it.
