During the Seattle Seahawks’ postgame press conference Sunday evening, linebacker and Super Bowl MVP Malcolm Smith‘s microphone was briefly hijacked by a so-called 9/11 “truther.”

“Investigate 9/11,” the unidentified man said into the microphone. “9/11 was perpetrated by people within our own government.” He was quickly shoved out of the room by security.

It’s unclear how the man was able to charge the press table so quickly, but he seems to have been wearing press credentials around his neck. The incident comes just days after Deadspin published a lengthy article that alleged Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll might be a 9/11 conspiracy theorist.

What an asshole. Make up dumbass conspiracies about aliens and bigfoot all you like, but let's leave the murder of thousands of people out of it...there are plenty of real things to criticise the Government about.

While I actually feel that 9/11 was a conspiracy, it happened over 13 years ago.

Whether we're wrong or right, it really doesn't matter. People need to just let it go. No one is going to investigate this just because some guy got on a mic.

This isn't Hollywood brah.
 
I can't stand nutty conspiracy theorists.

I think someone here on GAF described what it is . . . a false lazy short-cut path to intellectualism. Instead of doing the hard work of really becoming educated, conspiracy theories give people the feeling they know something special that other people don't. But no, it is just false crap.
 
yeah well why was build #7 destroyed (controlled demolition) when it had no real damage to it and you saw how the towers fell on themselves like a controlled demolition and that the owner of building took out a huge insurance policy soon before the attacks and jet fuel cant melt steel

It's really not that simple. I've talked to so many conspiracy theorists, and there's a combination of reasons. It makes people feel empowered or enlightened a lot of time, like they're willing to see something that others aren't. It's also that they think people haven't seen enough of the info and they're listening to lies and misinformation. There's a lot more to it, but that's the majority of what I've seen.

43-8 is 35 but, if we take the 3 from 43 and add 8 we get 11. now take the number 35 we got earlier and simply add the 3 and the 5 and you get 8. Well, 8 plus one of the one's from the number 11 equals 9. Proving that the Seahawks vs the Broncos was an inside job.

My guess is that someone wanted to see these two teams go to battle.

i don't think the government orchestrated 9/11, but I don't like the implication that all conspiracy theories are equally implausible.

like five years ago you could call someone who said the government is recording all our phone calls a conspiracy theory nut.
 
How do 9/11 truthers explain Al-Qaeda? Do they say think Osama bin Laden was in league with the US? Do they believe that the hijackers were CIA operatives under cover? If no planes were involved at all, what happened to the jets and the passengers?

Al-Qaeda was a cover. There were no hijackers. The planes were controlled remotely and the passengers are all at Area 51.

also a missle hit the pentagon, not a plane and hit a spot where a bunch of sketchy documents were held so they could get rid of the evidence and the hole left in the pentagon was too small for the plane they described and they confescated the gas station video of the missile that hit so the public couldnt see

I completely agree. It sometimes pisses me off the way people reject every conspiracy automatically.

EDIT: looked it up and it seems like all the ones I saw before were people trying desperately to find bad tweets because of his shitty fans and Grammy win but they were all actually fine... Besides this one. Unless he's tweeting song lyrics.

They do think he was in league with the US actually. Trained by the CIA to fight against Russia originally.

Then they kind of bring up the fact that the Bush family is pretty close to the Saudi royal family.

Then they mention all the advance warnings they got about the attack that were completely ignored, with documented proof of memos we've all seen now pointing to a plane attack.

And then they talk about how the Bin Laden family was flown out of the country immediately after 9/11 when basically all other flights were grounded.

Then they talk about how he evaded capture for so long, almost like it was more convenient to have a scapegoat to point to for the years of war.

Then his body never shown to the public after his assassination, and key details about the story of what happened being proven to be false.
