e 80’s classic; Big Trouble in Little China is going to be coming back to the big screen but we won’t be seeing a remake. We will be seeing a follow on story from the epic classic… Get ready for Big trouble in Little China 2.

Fox are planning a sequel to the fan favorite. It is not announced who will direct the movie but John Carpenter is definitely deserving. It is not announced when it will be released or who the cast will be but Big Trouble in Little China fans can expect a long awaited second dose inside the next few years. Nothing has been said, whether they will bring the original cast back and continue the story 30 years later just like Star Wars did, or if they will have a whole new cast. If Fox casts Kurt Russell and Dennis Dun along side some other original members we could be on for something special. If they go with a completely new cast they’re going to have to pick the right actors because Big Trouble in Little China fans won’t want to see a complete change without the magic from the original.

John Carpenter and Kurt Russell no more no less. But i suspect it will be horrible...because like me i love big trouble in little china that movie oozes 80's.

This site is completely unknown, and is citing no sources.

It then goes on to suggest Nathan Fillion play Jack Burton.

What a fucking turd of a "rumor" you've shared with us!

It won't happen. Is there another source for this?

No. The last time anyone in any bit of entertainment media discussed a Big Trouble sequel was last year, when the comic rolled out.

There is absolutely nothing anywhere else that even hints Fox is considering such a thing.

How do people even find this shit? Do they just aimlessly shuffle around the backwoods of the internet and knock small rocks over?

bad gameplay lol
I don't see any other sites reporting this and the site in the OP has only existed for four months and seems like it's trying to get hits to sell the Blu-Ray of the original. I dunno, seems shady.

OK, yeah. It didn't sound legitimate to me in any way.

Sounds like a shit rumor, but if it ever was true like others have said needs both Carpenter and Russel and even then I just don't know how well it will work considering it was a product of its time that even in its own time was playing by its own not very mainstream rules.

Sometimes things should just be left as they are, and I think this is one of them.

Why are there sequels coming for films that were designed (or at least seemed to be) to be standalone, no sequel intended? And years later for that matter...

Im on the fence for these sort of films, i love the originals (this, Blade Runner and Goonies spring to mind), but i have no real interest in seeing a sequel happen, im not saying it shouldn't, im not saying they wont be good, im not even saying i wont see it and like it, it just makes no sense, marketing is all about hype, and im just not interested in sequels to films i never expected or even wanted to see sequels too, and i'd guess its just as confusing to alot of other fans of these films, they were films of their time, remakes and sequels of them make very little sense...

Jokes aside, I would be into this... IF it was lampooning another genre. Big Trouble worked because it took the stereotypical 80s action hero and placed him in a world where he was hilariously inept. Luckily, Kurt Russell doesn't give a fuck about looking cool on screen, which weirdly made him even more awesome when he got his cool 'lucky' moment near the end.

If they have Jack in a different genre he's not at all compatible with, this could work. But none come to mind. I mean... maybe a horror film? But you can't redo the magic and have him back in Little China. That'd suck ass.

This was sorta my imaginary Mortal Kombat movie before a real one came out. Same as The Last Dragon basically served as my Double Dragon movie. :)

Carpenter and Russell otherwise you can fuck right off.

The original is probably my favourite movie of all time.

Do you guys really want John Carpenter to direct this? Dude has been trash for a while now. He was a God back in his day, but we gotta keep it real here.

Nobody's directing this. It's not real. It's an ad for blu-rays masquerading as a wishlist.

But no, Carpenter probably shouldn't direct anything anymore. I prefer him as an electronic music composer at this point.

A lot of th straight up racist stuff in the original is at least a little excusable since it was the 80s... no way could/should they do something similar now
