The Cube failed because it couldn't really find its market. Apple already had business/professional level G4 systems and the Cube should've filled the home market. Instead, they released it at far too high a cost and for too niche a market, hence, floppage. A shame, it was a marvel of design and engineering, although it's basically obsolete these days.

Ha! As for that case in the original post, it looks a fire hydrant or some Home Improvement flavored Black & Decker power tool. Worse than that, it doesn't seem to offer any actual benefits; it won't fit anywhere neatly and the front ports are almost entirely obscured by the front vents. Genius design.

Regarding the Apple Cube, well, it's not the same thing obviously, but you can pretend your Mini is the next best thing:

That looks sweet. Auto quality paint job is very nice. After owning boxy PCs for 20 years, this is a nice change of pace and I don't have to buy an Alienware just to get a sexy case. Damn. Red is sold out at Ajump.com. There's Blue and Green but after seeing the red one, I think Red is better looking IMO.

I guess I was never into the mod your rectangular box with glowing leds and CCFTs, clear windows panels, and other assorted decorations, as I always thought they made already boring PC cases into ugly gaudy cases. Not to mention all those open fans could make you lose your hearing. Plus I can't sleep with all those lights on either.
