Hello

Some time ago (i guess about 4/5 years) I saw a trailer of a wuxia movie - almost sure it was a chinese production - in which some bandits attacked a tavern in ancient China and were defeated by the waiter.

Then, a detective sent from the government was sent to investigate what happened and try to understand who was the mysterious hero.

Any idea about the title?

A lot of wuxia and similar films have something like that, so more information could narrow this down by a lot.
What would help is to know the quality of the trailer. That is, when you saw it 4/5 years ago, did it seem like a new film of the time or just a trailer for an older film? If it was older, look up Come Drink With Me any maybe The Black Tavern.

Come Drink With Me was going to be my answer too. I think it’s on Prime Video (as are a ton of other Shaw Brothers movies) if you have access to it OP.
