A second Sphinx and a massive underground complex has possibly been located in Egypt

They have found hints of the second sphinx from radar scans. A formation that mirrors the topology of the current sphinx has been found.

This has been theorized for a long time, since the Dream Stele show two sphinxes. But the sand has covered any trace of it.

There has also been mentions of vast tunnels under the pyramid plateau from ancient texts that are now being hinted at from radar scans as well. The ancient Greeks would speak of vast Egyptian underground labyrinths which now might be proven true.

I think about this every now and then. What it would be like to see ancient Egypt in their good times.
Slaves. Everywhere.

People are always so amazed by the pyramids. "It must have been aliens!"

No. It was thousands upon thousands of slaves working day in and day out for years (or until they collapsed from exhaustion). For no reason but to build an otherwise useless monument to their oppressive Pharaoh (who was only their ruler because of bloodline and not merit).

The pyramids are the ultimate symbol of what was deeply wrong with the ancient world.

From what I've read, recent findings suggest it was more like a citizen's service period than slavery, with worker conditions being quite good.

The Egyptian pyramids were built by thousands of skilled Egyptian laborers, artisans, and craftsmen—not slaves—under the direction of pharaohs during the Old Kingdom period (circa 2613–2494 BCE). Workers were organized into crews, lived in nearby temporary cities, and were likely paid in food and supplies, with the projects often utilizing labor during the Nile's flooding season.

That is how the world works.

How do you think this industry was built? Europe using slaves to accelerate their industrial technology, while stealing resources from around the world.

No one is innocent.

I admit to a fantasy that all that combat power we have amassed in the region will do a quick pivot to secure Giza and do a proper exploration.

If only Joe Rogan were president....:P

I'm all for going back to that, but replace "slaves" with anyone in jail. Especially the worst offenders.

Obviously I'm not an archaeologist so you are completely free to ignore what I'm about to say, but I believe that was a successful propaganda campaign by Egypt to cover up the shameful history of how the pyramids were built.

Yes, it's how the world worked back then, but imagine their fear of woke tourists shunning the pyramids in protest of slavery, ultimately decimating their critical tourism economy (either #1 or #2 contributor to their GDP depending on how you calculate it), hence why they needed to change the conversation.

The historical consensus appears to be that the pyramids were built with conscripted labour where peasants were forced into grueling labour to pay off their "taxes". If a person refused to work, they were beaten. If they ran away, their families were arrested and put in labour camps instead. If they were captured and tried to desert again, they would have their nose or ears cut off as a permanent sign of their desertion.

Funny enough, Egyptians would never execute or severely maim a conscripted worker as the ultimate goal was to preserve their able bodies for forced labour.

Historians can play semantics all they want. To me that is best described as "slavery"!

I dont think you want that. You are giving jailers a reason to bribe judges with more money. This will lead to arrest of innocent people with harsh crimes. All because these guys would profit the most from this.

Here is the guy that did the scans and helped develop the technology to do it

Key points:
He sat on the data for a year before going public
The data has been peer reviewed
The same technology has been used on other structures below ground
It's likely a big flood happened and sealed everything, which might make excavation difficult
Depending on the ages of stuff underground, it could throw the entire egyptian timeline off

I meant have them do physical labour, that way they be more than a waste space and tax dollars for keeping them alive produces something useful.

Except, the taxpayer money is going to these greedy jail owners. These MF are corrupt as FK. There is a reason why they are pushing for a private jails.

The sad thing is you are right. Any good idea can get easily ruined by greed, corruption and the desire for power.

I mean....just look at the state of things now.

It's even said in Asterix & Obelix movie in Egypt

"They're not slaves, they're qualified workers doing their job with free will"
"And the whip is for decoration ?"
"I don't know, no one ever complained"
