? about WoW and EQ2

I've been looking at EQ2 and WoW on which one to get into in a bit. I've played EQ1 for about 3 years or so, and one thing that really bothered me was Character/class development especially in the high end game. There was NO difference between a Human Warrior and a Elf Warrior in the high end game, they both had the same stats and almost the same equipment, etc. I would of loved to "REAL" race/class variations between the races, besides looks.
My questions are, in EQ2 or WoW is there a difference for instance between a human fighter and a elf fighter? Do you choose skills that no one else would have? If I played a human fighter and my friend played a human fighter would we be carbon copies of each other (stats and equipment wise, not looks) or would there be differences between us?
I know how EQ2 has the character branching, but after you pick your final choice at lvl 20, are you the same as ever other shmuck who picked the same?
What are the differences in these areas between EQ2 and WoW?

Thanks for the input.

what's it like?

*a little history*
I was in the EQ:OA beta and the only redeeming quality was killing frogloks...so damn cute

Check gamespot's wow video review, if that doesnt hype you for WoW i dont know what would. I wish i had a nice pc >_<

A FLIP!

Frogloks were the real stars of EQ!
They had the neat Lower Guk dungeon, phat loot, FLIPS, undead frogloks, BACKFLIPS, and went frooooak on each other for my enc ^^

there are mobs that remind me of frogloks called murlocs in WOW... ok, only in appearance.

I have been playing both eq2 and WoW now for a few days. So far I would have to say the EQ2 is going to get my monthly fee. WoW is fun, but it just doesnt say D&D to me like EQ2 does.

I have been playing eq2 on a p4 2.8ghz with 1.5 gig ram and ati 9800 pro aiw
I have been playing WoW on a G5 mac 1.8ghz with nvidea 5200.

IMO both games are good, but WoW seems to be filled with little jokers with phrases as names, less actual D&D feel, and both have fast action for the nube out there. So far I would lean towards eq2. I will give both the 30 day trial prior to making up my mind.

just make sure that you don't use the same account on two machines at a time (should be methods in place to prevent you from doing that) and you shouldn't run into trouble....at least...that's how I assume it works

glad I couldn't help :b

I feel pretty much the same way. I think EQ is going to end up getting my cash. I've been playing WoW for the last few days and it just isn't grabbing me, I'm sure I'll give it another shot when I'm done with EQ.
