Ace Combat Zero trailer

Hmm, very well done trailer. Will the live action stuff be used for the cutscenes or was that just for this trailer? I didn't mind the voiceover to be honest, and music got me pumped to dogfight. :D

We need an online Ace Combat already...come on, Namco.
 
I need to see that trailer again, but that's nice. I ooze with anticipation of the game, regardless. The PlayStation 2 lives.

Is the rest CG?! :O

I mean, the talkin man at the begin, the girl, the guy in green, ecc ecc - is all computer graphics?!

If so, it is unbelievable.

I skipped out on 5 but I may not be able to resist this.

edit: unless namco suddenly has surpassed square at rendering humans... those where live actors superimpossed on 3d sets :)

...the characters that were introduced... those were "live" folk just over animated backgrounds similar to what EA is doing in the NFS: Most Wanted... people actually thought those were CG?!?!??!
 
The live action stuff reminds me a lot of Wing Commander 3, thats a good thing. Liking it a lot! I'll get Ace Combat 5 as soon as I can find it online for 30$ new.
 
That was stunning! It actually gave me goose bumps... the characters looked like CG at first but the women looked too real and the animation of the guy in the suit his motion was much too natural for it to be CG.

It's very arcadey and extremely accessible. All of the games in the series are actually pretty heavily story based (The Japanese version of Ace Combat 3 had branching paths and anime cutscenes, etc). I'd say start with Ace Combat 04 first and then move on to Ace Combat 5. AC04 is actually a lot easier than AC5 but it has an excellent story that's told very well and has some rockin' mission design. AC5 is a much bigger game overall though, with like twice as many missions and a lot more planes, but the story is lacking compared to AC04.
 
Trailer was damn good.. i Love the music they used...... i'm really GLAD to see devs are starting to go back to live actors as opposed to strictly using CG.
