Thanks guys, that's good to hear. I'm probably overreacting to them not showcasing the kneeling-fist-to-the-ground pose that was shown off with the earlier HT IM figures. I'll probably go ahead and order the MK3.
You can do that easily
with a bit of manipulation. Mark 42 has a button actually on his butt you can press to actually loosen up the hip joints and back for a bit more poseability. Alot o the panels on the hips and midsection can actually be pulled out so you pose the lower body and then pop them back into place. The Diecast IronMan Hot Toys figures have amazing poseability, more so than the plastic models. Totally worth the premium.
Hell you can even do it with the big boy

Yeah, when ordering you choose how many payments you want to make and then they all fall out over the course of the preorder window.
Nice generalization there. BTW, none of the Battleship women are 14 year old girls. That's all destroyers and submarines. (I am not a fan of the obvious underage girl figures myself) Battleships and Aircraft Carriers are women

A recent Marvel Legends thread was made which exposed a real interest here around GAF for those sorts of figures, and many people agreed the atmosphere in the existing figure thread wasn't embracing of that sort of topic. I personally have seen many action figure posts there either receive negative replies or often outright ignored.
Couple that with a lot of people into action figures are not into some of the topics being cultivated there which was feeding into the lack of action figure posts in the thread as well.
So I don't think it is fair to say that action figure gaf took their ball and went home... it's more of a two way thing, rather the other side wants to acknowledge their part in it or not.
I hope this clears it up because it would be nice to get past the "why are there two threads?" thing sooner rather than later

the problem is that people new to gaf will see this thread and post about anime action figures, which do exist.
I just think a change of title is whats needed. The thread itself is fine and I understand its reason to exist. Maybe change it to "western figure thread" or something.

Sadly I missed out on the Storm trooper pre -order, regarding the Avengers line from Figuarts I am still on the fence on that one since I am collecting the Figma Avengers and they look better than their Figuarts counterparts.While i'm still pondering over some Hot Toys orders, thought i'd share some other orders i made recently before pre-orders closed

People have a general view that all anime is porn and abuse of little girls. That's typically what I hear from people outside the culture when they talk about it. moe and loli are a part of anime but there are as many forms of anime as there are genre's of american tv shows and channels. Would be like saying Jersey Shore and True Blood is representative of all American TV. I would hope that's not what split the group. Plenty of Western companies pump out hyper sexualized figures of women as well. Anyways that's neither here nor there.
I approve this thread as it would be nice to have a thread for Hot toys, sideshow, other posables and memorabilia as long as it doesn't eat into the static figure part. Preferably I would prefer everything in one place because there have been gundam models and western figures I would never have known about had they not been posted in figure gaf. Multiple threads for stuff just means its easier to miss stuff you were never looking for in the first place and realize its something you would be interested in. That's why since my main hobby is Lego, if something is super hero related I will relay it to comic fans as it might be a tertiary thing that they would miss otherwise perhaps but is something they might love even if they do not build LEGO otherwise.
Anyways, subscribed because if this will get all you people who don't go to figure gaf to finally post western stuff that I don't know about because I won't spend time hunting it down then this is a good thing.

I have two more sitting in a closet waiting for added space. They're a nice solution for Amiibo's if you're into those as well.
As for the thread, I said it in the Marvel thread, I have no issue with the other figure thread or anyone in it. It's just too anime focused and I don't have much interest in those types of statues. For those that do, enjoy. Everyone has their hobbies...

I will make a comment on this thread too. I hope that anyone that feels like sharing their new pick ups with us in the other thread still do. Many of us enjoy seeing stuff like what is being posted in here as well. I along with many others try to be welcoming but cannot respond to every post that happens. Doesn't mean we don't like seeing it!
A MkVII in Diecast would be the dream.

I picked up my first DC Collectable figure yesterday, the Greg Cappullo Zero Year Batman and gotta say I'm super impressed with the quality. The joints are a bit weird but the sculpt and paint are fantastic, really want to get his Mr Freeze to go alongside it.
I lean more on the Marvel side of the comic fence but i think their figure output via Hasbro is quite frankly terrible. I'd really like to see something like a Designer Series from them but it would probably never happen. I think I'm going to have to take a look for the Koto Marvel Now statues.

This does seem to be the big issue. I like DC, but I find Marvel characters much more preferable on the whole. But unfortunately Marvel has no merchandising line that's comparable to DC Direct, and they really really should.
The things that happen when I fall asleep for a few hours, heh. I'll just repost my post on FigureGAF here.

Wish it's just be American Figure GAF and Japanese Figure GAF. Seems more straight forward than Articulated Figure GAF where certain figmas aren't welcome. Also the people who collect the ArtFX+ don't really have anywhere to go (mostly joking by this line). Seems limited, but I didn't create the thread so whatever. I'll subscribe to it anyway because I like looking at people's collections and in case I order the Deadpool Sideshow Collectible or Megaman X Kickstarter.
Also lol at the people trying to start some sort of war between both threads. Both contain the collecting of figurines which is looked down upon by common society apparently. We should try to get along.

I have a couple of cool figures, Big Boss being one of my favorites. A lot of the other stuff though is just junk I came across through the years like stuff you would expect from a LE of a game.
My favorite figure though is my Doctor Doom statue from Bowen which is easily the most expensive one I have. Got it on a trip to NYC and decided to buy a big souvenir while at a comic book shop. I don't have pictures of mine available since he is being kept at my family's house while I'm off to college, but here is a sample photo of his design.

I think American Figure GAF and Japanese Figure GAF may be even more confusing than it already is, as there are Japanese figures based on American property (such as Figma Iron Man). Also, I agree with the whole "war" thing. It's petty and unneeded.
I don't have any DC Collectibles so I can't really say, but is the Marvel Select line closer to what you're looking for? Marvel Select figures are bigger than your average 6 inch figure, though.

I feel for the diehard 3.75 fans out there, but 6" clearly where a lot of the effort is going now, with the smaller figures losing enthusiast support as Hasbro is trying to focus that size more on its younger buyers as seen with its push of the "star wars saga legends" figures as a great example of this.
Hopefully those fans will transition over to 6" (or 7" for marvel select with dc direct being similarly sized) because that is where the sweet spot is these days.

Articulated action figures made by Japanese companies are welcome here, not only are Japanese companies making killer western super heroes but even stuff like berserk are going to be very appreciated here, just keep the statues in the other thread.

Nah, generally speaking - I'm all about the statues. I dig the ones DC puts out, and I'd love some based on Marvel characters. The only poseable figures I really buy are Nendoroids.
