Yeah, all real bees in every single scene, and while Tony Todd was stung multiple times, his contract ensured him an additional thousand dollars for each sting. Also Virginia Madsen, the main actress, was extremely allergic to bees, so they had to make sure an ambulance was on standby at all times just to be safe. Also, because they were shooting on location in the films’ exterior scenes of Cabrini-Green, they hired various local gang members to be extras in the film so that in addition said members could ensure the crew’s safety.

Also was adapting one of Clive Barker’s novellas, the same author who wrote the novella that Hellraiser was adapted from.

Candyman movie shook me when I was a kid. Makes me feel like I'm getting bad mojo just from watching it.
To this day I won't say Candyman three time in the mirror. Can't take that chance.

It's quite something to reach a certain point in your life where people start passing away with regularity. People you grew up with, who at some point seemed immortal and ageless.
I am sad to hear of his passing.
