Additional Japanese Developers Revealed for X360

From Gamespot:

More Japanese publishers jump on next-gen Xbox. Sega and From Software confirm development of multiple titles for the next-generation Xbox.

At least two Japanese publishers are already making games for the next-generation Xbox, says Famitsu. Sega is currently developing multiple titles for the console and From Software is also developing multiple titles for the next Xbox iteration. No details on any of the games were revealed.

From Software president Naotoshi Jin revealed in an interview that at least one of his company's games in development is slated to be a next-gen Xbox launch title.

When asked what genres will be represented in the From next-gen Xbox software library, Jin said that given his company is known for its mech titles (including 2003's Murakumo: Renegade Mech Pursuit), the company "could not leave these out of the line-up."

MURAKUMO 2!!!!!!! :(

As long as I get more Otogi I'll be happy. A more varied Metal Wold Chaos would be also welcome :)

Mr President, look! A UFO! Oohooh! My first UFO! I bet there are some aliens inside

Corniest. Game. Ever.

I think new Famitsu also states that they'll be first ones to reveal first Mistwalker's XBox360 RPG, 4 days before E3 or something like that...

Well they also developed for xbox so it's really not a surprise at all.

Actually, it is somewhat surprising that these companies have "multiple" titles in development for X360 because of how poorly the Xbox did in Japan originally. Obviously they feel Microsoft can improve on their position this time around and I'm sure they're banking on the fact that even if their games don't sell as well in Japan, those same games might move some decent #'s in western markets to make some profit for them.

I hope it's the one that's meant to be all flashy and awesome looking.

Sega...Sega...Sega.... didn't sales of your titles on the XBox teach you anything?
Well, to be fair, X360 stands a considerably better shot at appealing to the Japanese user thanks to its pretty hefty Japanese lineup of developers. I'm sure MS will do pretty much everything 'right' this time...it's just up to the gamers to buy the system.

more $$$ is always good

And with the just looking at how many of their titles bomb on platforms other than the XBOX, they could probably really use it.

Considering how Sega's done such an admirable job of completely sucking the life out of Sonic, attempting a land-speed record in how quickly they can kill an IP (Crazy Taxi), and approving complete trash like Sega AGES, I'm beginning to think it may be for the best that Sega just hang up their console hat all together and stick to the arcades, where more rational heads still appear to be running things.

Very true, another possibility to go with this is maybe MS is helping fund or look past fees for the Japanese market early on.

If they do decide to eat some profits, doing it at launch in Japan is definately seems to be a good choice for the long term investment.

Yeah, let's completely forget about the good games and instead focus simply on amplifying the negatives.

you guys sure this is not from spong?

You sure you're not trying a little too hard?

Congratulations Microsoft, you got Sega on-board! Time for Sega to rip the Japanese charts next-gen as well. This will be big.

I think I've made my point clear enough.

Prediction: Sega once again attempts to revive some of their old franchises only to find that noone cares except a few hardcore fans, resulting in another generation of Nintendo fans arguing about how stupid Sega is for supporting the Xbox 360 instead of the Revolution.

Anyone else find it strange that Gamespot refers to 'From Software' as the company behind Murakumo? Do they really think people identify with that title? I'm surprised they didn't mention Otogi or Otogi 2...
