Well, something is gumming up the works over at Advent of Code, because this year we're getting 12 days of programming challenges instead of 25. Can't get the elves to work any more than that.
I have to admit, it's a relief. AoC was proving too much work for the creator...and it was already too much work for me! So let's give the elves some time off, they deserve it.
We're already on day 2, which was quite easy for me. Day 1, on the other hand, proved a surprising struggle for me on part 2 as I refused to take a brute-force approach and kept getting hammered by edge cases for my solution.
Are you doing AoC this year? Have you done it in the past? What language/approach do you use? I've tried to use different languages in previous years as a learning motivator but this year I'm sticking with good old TypeScript. Nothing beats TypeScript.
