I am about to upgrade my laptop memory and the manuel says that it takes a stick of ddr 400 sdram or a stick of so-dimm. Which one would you suggest I get?

I'm adding a 512 stick. Which of the two will be faster? I to increase performence not just throw the cheapest stick in my rig.

Your laptop (unless it's some crazy home built model from a mom and pop vendor) will probably take a PC3200 SODIMM (a.k.a. DDR400 SODIMM).
