I have my internet connection in my office and my soon to be xbox 360 in the den. The rooms happen to be on the opposite sides of the house. There are many walls between these rooms, with some at angles that would seem difficult for a wireless connection to work. I have tried before with a wireless router and the MS wireless adapter for the xbox. I couldnt get a strong signal. However, i'm not entirely positive I set it up right. Some things were confusing, and after time I gave up trying. I am hoping as technology improves, these wireless connections will get better and will actually work in my home. Does anyone here have a wireless setup that passes through many walls? Does the new wireless setups have much stronger signals? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Now i'm forced to use a 50ft cable that barely reaches the router from the xbox. It is an eyesore and I'm afraid the chord will be tripped over. So I only use xbox live on rare occasions. I would love to have a wireless setup so that I can be on live all the time. Especially when the 360 arrives.

I'm not positive, but I think the newer 802.11g has better range.

I know my parents use a "G" network at their house and I have no problems what-so-ever going through two floors. The "G" network I use at my apartment works very well, but the distance is only 10 feet.

If you still can't get it to work though PM me and I'll make you a cat5 cable the length you need.

Thanks for the advice. I will try going wireless for the 360. I hope I can get it to work smooth. Worst case scenario will be connecting a Cat 5 cable that goes from one end of the house to the other when i want to go on live. It would be nice to not have to worry about that and be on live all the time. Maybe I'll fare better this time.

How old is your house? Most stud and drywall houses are so flimsy that 802 routers blast through them like Van Damme beating up a baby made of damp toilet paper.

I am able to use my 802.b from the local Starbucks without paying those fucks extra. Also, I steal Equal from there.
