I am about to start playing them, so should I:

1. Play Ages first.
2. Play Seasons first.
3. Flip a coin because it does not matter.

From what I understand (and did myself) Seasons is slightly more recommended first.

No.

It doesn't affect the story per se, but there are events in each game that only occur when you're playing it as a linked game. So, regardless of which order you play them in, you'll miss a few small things... I think. If that explanation makes any sense.

I played Ages first. The extra heart you get from a linked game helps out in Seasons (the action based one).

The biggest difference between Seasons and Ages is that each focuses on a different aspect of the classic Zelda formula: Ages is puzzle-heavy while Seasons is action-oriented. That's not to say that Ages skimps on the monster slaying or that Seasons won't give you any puzzles to solve, but each game knows what it's going for.

Seasons is easier, and has "classic bosses." But I thought Ages was a better game.

If you intend to play both, and prefer to go from one awesome game to another MORE awesome game, then do Seasons, then Ages.

Season's had a more classic feel to the formula. Lot's of nostalgia, but very well executed.

Ages was more puzzle heavy, had a new school feel (Ocarina and Majora's characters joined the mix) and it was like a 2D Ocarina/Majora's.

In the end, play both!! They are wonderful games.

Mr. Klaw: If you haven't played Majora's Mask either, then you are crazy as it is one of the best games ever made. And of course, if you missed out on Link's Awakening (my favorite Zelda game of all time) then I would seriously question your sanity.

I never got Majora for my N64, so I'd play it on the Gamecube bonus disc. Is that version a good one?

if you have the opportunity to play it on your n64, go that way. there are minor timing/sound issues that make it preferable. if there's no way to play the n64 version, then by all means, go with the port. beautiful game, that.

It's fine, but the N64 version is better. The N64 game, you'd need the game itself, the system, and an x-pack. Should bring you to near $50 or so.
