akadoko (Where Do Babies Come From?) IMPRESSIONS!

Oichi

I'm like a Hadouken, down-right Fierce!
I just got this game today, because some store broke the street date, so I couldn't resist. If you've played Feel the Magic then you know the drill. Awesome mini-games and comedy... here's a rundown of some new stuff in the game.

- The graphics are pretty much the same, and the music is absolutely wacky. It's more upbeat than the first game, too.

- A lot of varied mini-games... more so than in the first game. Within the first level you'll be using the microphone, rotating your DS around for some mini-games, as well as playing traditional games. Some of the games I've played thus far are the ones that were available at TGS (Roses, Kicking away hearts, etc.) as well as one where you have to blow away paratroopers, toss your girlfriend up to grab fruit, snorkel to save your girlfriend, and a Dragonball Z-style Janken (rock, paper, scissors) boss battle!

- During the cutscenes before the game you can still unlock the blue usagi rabbits for secrets.

- There are A LOT more items in Maniac mode... I basically unlocked one item for every stage thus far.

- Online battle modes for several games (I'm assuming all of them except the Love ones). Even Janken has an online battle mode.

- You can design your own decals for your girlfriend's threads.

- There's an awesome mini-game where two people use the same DS. It's a boyfriend/girlfriend thing. You put in your birthday, blood type, etc. The mini-game is cutting a wedding cake. The person on the left controls the D-Pad and the person on the right controls B and X. You have to cut the cake properly, and when you do, you'll get a baby!

I think I'm about half way through the game, although I'm not sure. I'm just going by how many blue usagis I have, and it's nearly half full.

Online? You mean local wireless or internet wireless?

Feel the Magic was a nice enough diversion for launch, but the game doesn't hold up well at all imo. Hopefully UGA can pull a "Space Channel 5 Part 2" with Where do Babies Come From?

Yeah, the lack of English mode is disappointing.
Man, the return of the
fucking bulls
is a bitch. I had to retry that stage a ton to hit all those hearts.

Hmmh, so is this fun beyond 2 hours or will I never play it again like the original Feel the Magic?

"It's so nice to have good games like Ouendan and Phoenix Wright so I don't have to pretend to like shit like FTM anymore" -- Me

Sorry I am soooo not buying this.. funny how quick they came out with another one..

k... just finished the game, took me about 4 hours of on and off play to get through it. I would think that if I sat down and played through the entire game in one sitting that it would've taken 2 or 3 hours tops.

Finishing the game unlocks Sound Test mode and Another Story Mode, which basically takes the other girl from the story and puts her in a little pseudo story... which leads me to the good and bad about the game

Good
- Mini-games are really fun! I haven't tried battle mode though. Maybe in a couple of days.
- Lots of customizable stuff, just like the first one
- Nice little goodies/extras

Bad
- I do not like repeating mini-games. The whole point of a mini-game is that it's gonna be different and unique from the other games you'll find! You repeat two games within the main story mode (different graphics, same objective)... and in Another Story mode -- which admittedly I haven't finished yet -- you're still repeating the same games. That's really god damn annoying to me.

IOW that "much longer" stuff was BS. Ah well.
