Alan Wake site updated - new FAQ

SWEDISH PERFECTION
Alan Wake, the next-gen game that...noone talks about anymore. :(
Well, at least that's what it felt like. So I visited the official site and found an interesting Alan Wake FAQ. Some info is probably old, and some is probably new. Haven't really looked through it completely.

And yeah, I did a search and found nothing at GAF, apparently this FAQ was added to the official site during the beginning of September.

I like this one:

Q: How are the forests created?
A: Remedy's art team has developed them in-house.

I forgot all about this game. Looked great in the early media.

Geez oh, it's only been about 4 or 5 months since it was first revealed and everyone was talking about Alan Wake. It's not like they've released a bundle of new media/impressions since then.

5 minute attention spans indeed.

Plus it's the silly season, the one time of year when the pace of new releases gets in the way of people anticipating games that are a ways off (although there is always time for any console war threads).

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it as well. Here are some other interesting facts:

Q: Loading times?
A: The outside environment will have no visible loading."

Q: Where is Bright Falls located?
A: Washington, USA.

Q: How interactive is Bright Falls?
A: The player can explore buildings and talk with Non Player Characters (NPC's).

And unfortunately:

Q: When is Alan Wake going to be released?
A: "When it's done"

But then...eventually, that's a good thing. :)

Yeah, but with all the discussions about next-gen recently, and "these next-gen games look better than those", games people list as good-looking games for next-gen consoles, it just seems like Alan Wake has been completely forgotten. When it is, in fact, both good-looking and next-gen. :)

It is multiplatform though and therefore is useless unless they release shots whose platform is clearly marked for comparisons. Don't worry this game is always in the back of my mind.

It's the same thing with RE5, which you'd think given the recognisability of the series and it's critical reception would make it a primo candidate for my console beats yours, but it's multiplatform with media of unspecified origin.

Of yeah, multiplatform. ;(
Anyway, I'll admit that no media has been released since E3 basically, so there hasn't been much to discuss...but I found this FAQ to be a good reason to bring it back up, at least. :)

The lack of info and screens is on purpose. The team decided that after the last interview with a Finnish magazine after E3, they'll go into shadows for a year and resurface in next E3 with stunning, new material. The main reason is that as a relatively small team, they don't have PR and marketing functions and expect the eventual publisher to handle that.

Wait, so Alan Wake is now confirmed for PS3? Excellent. :) Love the Max Payne series and Remedy.

and the way its worded sounds like there might be a chance for the rev to get it as well. 'currently confirmed' who knows.
