I know what you mean but I don't necessarily think anything. A massive part of Nintendo's DNA is in novelty toys. It pretty much kicked off their involvement with gaming (and they still lean into the novelty toy aspect of gaming).

They're the kind of company that wants to come up with Tomagotchi-like fads, but the hook still has to work. They can still fail at it.

I personally hate this thing but knew it would be a success. I usually don't expect them to do this kind of stuff unless the pure gaming side is hurting. Now they are just firing on every cylinder they know raking in money.

I do want to check out Nintendo Land when it hits Universal in Florida though, lol.

It's kind of a bummer to feel not much of anything with Nintendo. They gave me so many great experiences as a kid. Mostly just apathetic to them now. I know they still make good games but I just don't care enough to play them.
