Wow...that was kind of intense.
The episode didn't come off as important as it really was. Like, Rambaldi's prophecy totally got raped, the main follower of Rambaldi and the head of the Covenant? Dead. It's all dead. I mean, this was a huge deal...and yet it felt very small scale. This is the kind of event that would have worked only if this whole APO thing wouldn't have happened and all of this directly followed all of Sloane's antics at the end of last season. I just look back at that moment and think that this seems more important if you forget all the BS in between.
The ending, though...so Vaughn became Sydney's handler for a reason. That reason, of course, should be what is interesting. For instance, why did Irina know his secret? Vaughn couldn't be too involved, because he's seen far too clueless in too many situations. I mean, if he was "involved" all around, you have to wonder what exactly he had to gain to become her handler. Was he forced by Jack/Sloane? That still wouldn't make any sense. I just have a bad feeling that this could be similar to last season's cliffhanger, and it's teasing a huge piece of information that turns out to be something far less groundbreaking.
In other news, that was an intense final shot, simple as that. Fast, out of NOWHERE...that's how you do it. That's how it works, baby. Let's hope it pays off...don't let me down, JJ.
