Alice Madness Returns was added to the registry, so much for D2D's ads I guess.

Drkirby said:
The source for Alice is me! Last Entry in the Registry list of subscriptions. No telling when it will come out, or if EA may change their minds at the last second though, took like 4 months for Spiral Knights to actual release.

Drkirby said:
Maybe in the Application Registry (Which also has random stuff like FFVII in it) but it literally is the last entry in the Subscription Registry (The list of all games and packages that can be purchased on steam), and unlike the app Registry which is really random in ordering, the Subscription Registry is Chronologically ordered to when it was added to the Registry.

Now, it doesn't mean it will come out anytime soon on steam though, I have seen things go up several months before Steam even allowed you to preorder the game.

Source is DrKirby, so remember, if anything happens your foul words are directed to him, not me ;P

Nothing close to a confirmation on when its coming.. or even if it is in fact coming i guess, but you might want to hold on to your butts before giving in and using that terrible EA service. I'll be waiting.

YESSSSSSSSS

How bad is it that I would just like to have every game I want to buy in a tidy collection, which is in steam?

In before, "You can add non-Steam games to the Library."

Did you really have to make a new topic with my quotes ;/

Feeling the pressure?

*readies pitchfork*

Just kidding, of course. I don't care much about this game.

Why is this big deal? It was exclusive?

Definitely did NOT need it's own thread.

people make threads for everything these days. I await the Kojima farted thread that'll easily reach 2500 posts.

eh.. there was more than enough interest and people going crazy about it in the "Crysis 2 gone from Steam" threads to make a thread about it since many people could miss it.

Just trying to ease the "pain" here.

Oh no, you aren't getting away that easily. If the game doesn't get released on Steam I think a ban is the only fair outcome. Yes, I do endorse the execution of all heralds of bad news.

Well, there is a few reasons I didn't make a topic my self, that being one of them.

It's not even guaranteed that the game will go up on Steam even if it is in the registry. It's non-news undeserving of it's own thread.

Hey man, how about you let the mods mod and just fuck off. I'm interested in this news and don't check the Steam thread religiously. If it's deemed unworthy a mod will lock it, but until then maybe just don't read the thread.

Alright señor mod, close it down.

I don't understand what the problem is here. If it doesn't warrant it's own thread, then it'll eventually just disappear from the front page, end of story. No need to get all bent out of shape about it =/

Guess who doesn't get to decide that.

Definitely DID need its own thread.

I will now go purchase this game. Well, when it comes up on Steam, of course.

Well done Salsa. I read it in the Steam Thread, but still good to tell people the updates. Even if its a minor thread. It wont hurt anyone, people read it, and tomorrow its gone to page 542.

Apparently me.

damn, sorry man, didnt know youd get so upset :/ you already posted it on the steam thread out in the open, so i thought it would be no trouble. Sorry about that.

just ask the mods to close it or let me know if i should ask one..

Who cares, whats done is done.

More people need to know about this awesome game anyways, don't listen to the corrupt gaming journalists who gave it low scores. They just mad EA didn't pass em a check.

Well, I'm grateful for this information and this thread (would not have seen this otherwise, the single threads just get too long too quickly). Thanks to SalsaShark and Drkirby!

I didn't care about Crysis 2 disappearing from Steam, but I do care about Alice not being on Steam.

I wonder if the all of the non-Origin PC copies will receive the "Complete Collection". As of now, there is no way for non-Origin customers to buy either Alice 1 or the accompanying DLC, even though console owners get it.

They can keep those DLC costumes for all i care

Alice 1 has a better chance

Nice, I look forward to buying this game when it's on sale for $10

wouldnt be surprised if that's the base price by the time it arrives on Steam, considering all the shenanigans going on.

That's not the same and you know it!

I actually don't mind it in general, but for games that run via emulators (such as DOSBox games from GoG) it doesn't work well since all it does is just load up the emulator itself. I mean, I know it's a very simple process of loading my preferred game within the emulator, but something feels off about having to do that within a library of games that load up as intended. So, instead, I just added a GoG folder to the Start Menu and removed the games from the Steam Library.

Haha. I's been a long time since I've heard this expression!

This is good news. I was waiting for a Steam version and it looks like it's finally coming around.

It's a shame that the exclusivity has hurt the game so much, though. It seems like no one even knows about the game all that much and the main thread is tiny.

It's a Alice game, not anything particularly interesting to the the majority of gamers. Still drooling for Battlefield 3 and such.

1) Make a shortcut directly to the game (GOG already does this for you).

2) Add the shortcut to steam, it will follow the shortcut to the EXE instead, so you will get DOSBox or D-Fend Reloaded instead of Quest for Glory / whatever you wanted.

3) Go to properties on the DOSBox shortcut in Steam and rename it to the game's name, and change the target back to the shortcut .lnk file, by changing the file type selection to *.* and browsing to the folder with the shortcut (Copy the shortcut somewhere easier to locate than the desktop folder to simplify this process).

The Target: box should now be updated to show the shortcut directly to the game. Close the window.

4) Enjoy your game directly from double clicking it on Steam! If you really want to get fancy you can use a program to convert GOG's ico file to something Steam can read I guess, and get the icon working too.

You don't dictate which threads are threadworthy and which are not. You are not a mod, and what you've done here is basically just an attempt at shitting all over this thread and derailing it as best you can.

I didn't think to link the Steam shortcut to the Windows shortcut. Cheers. :)

The lack of an icon doesn't bother me since I use the default Library view.

This is like having just 1 console. Can't happen. I love Steam and I have more games for that service than any other BUT I also love great deals. I've got a decent ammount of D2D games and a few GG games too.
