- I kinda assumed there was going to be some big reveal with Kirsh, like he had it all planed or had some ulterior motive. They always hinted at him basically being 2 steps ahead of everyone...then he just gets randomly fucked up by the cyborg dude and is seemingly surprised when the kids rebel and don't listen to him.

Yeah the lack of any motivation for his actions was weird. He had been making some weird decisions that I figured would be explained by him working for Yutani, but that never happened, and I guess he is supposed to just be a weird synth doing stuff just to see what happens.

Holy shit, this thread just made me piss myself laughing out loud.

In just a few posts it surpassed the entirety of Alien Earth. In emotion, comedy, fear and despair.

Like The Acolyte, they completely ruined the Alien lore.

Eh. The original Alien showed that left to its own devices the Alien will just go around massacring people. Aliens established that they communicated and that the Queen could make them follow actions. Presumably she was responsible for complex actions like cutting the power before an attack. I always assumed the facehuggers purpose was to deposit an egg or embryo in to someone's body, I thought the staying attached was just to immobilize them and to prevent any interference with that process. The Alien being partly bullet resistant isn't really an issue - other than some handguns and the shotgun - the marines were using military grade armor piercing bullets - and it did seem like the bullets from Gormans pistol were deflected just before he dies.
I don't think they messed with the lore at all - they made the Alien more of a killing machine rather than the cannon fodder they became in Aliens.
Alien Earths problems weren't with messing with Alien lore but with how they contrived the overall plot and how little the Alien ultimately played in that.

It's obvious a post completely off the rails was in the wrong thread. I would've just laughed at the post and replied "wrong thread." I've seen people do it here dozens of times over the years. Glad I made the thread worth visiting, because the show hasn't.
