Sooo, I just did some shopping earlier this evening and one of the items didn't get checked out and I was able to leave with no trouble. I didn't realize it was missing until I was in the car and looked over the reciept. Now the question here is, do I go back and pay for it? or do I just keep it and be a happy camper o-o. To note, I would have gone back but I was in the rush to make it to the mall before they closed.

I say it depends on the value of the freebie. If it's a high cost item I'd be more inclined to be honest in this situation. But yea if it's like a free dvd or something, keep it.

I would take it back and pay for it. Sure they messed up, but if you were ready to pay for it anyway, you don't need it as a freebie anyway, so why not help them out? I dunno, that's just me there's not illegal about keeping it but the topic -is- about morals anyway.

Yep. If it's from a local record store, take it back. If it's from a Tower Records, they recouped the loss many times over with the other items you bought alone.

Take it back, I had a girlfriend who was fired becuase she messed up doing this same thing. If you have half a heart you will take it back.
