Am I The Only One Getting His Blog Spammed To High Hell?

I'm so fucking sick of this shit. Almost every f'n day, I get about 100 or so spam posts, all regarding online poker. To those who also have blogs, are you guys having the same problem? If so, what's the solution?

I guess I should be specifically addressing JackFrost since I know he also uses WordPress, but I don't think he really ventures to the OT. Somebody mind getting him here for me? Thanks.

And no, this is not some cheap ploy to hit my site. :(

Wordpress sites are getting slammed hard. Wordpress' wiki has some plugin options. I usually just do a mass edit and search for key words. I had about 300 today. Bastards.

I use a WP plugin called SpamWordBlock (http://wordpress.org/support/10/16755) which stops spam BEFORE it enters the moderation queue, as it should. Between than and judicious addition/modification of the spam words list (you don't want to ban "online," but "-online" and "online-" are fine), I get prolly less than 10 a week at this point. Still a nightmare, however.

I moved from MovableType to LiveJournal :lol
I guess my domain hardly gets used now, but at least I don't get spam and I can restrict my entries to friends only.

Thanks for the info.

Perhaps I should clarify myself: I really don't admin the site myself, a friend handles that. He told me that he's already tried some plug-ins and the such, but they don't work. I figured I should ask around here for some specific suggestions which I could then pass to him. So I appreciate all the advice.

You bring up a good point. I know Fennec Fox has his blog on LJ, but it's also it's own separate thing. How is that done anyhow? Was it a LJ to begin with, then was made "separate", or vice versa? I'd love to know; being both it's own thing and part of a LJ community has it's own advantages, and he seems to have the best of both worlds.
