Like seriously, everywhere I go Sparta gets bashed while TMV gets nothing but praises. I just listened to Frances the Mute for the first time and I'm just not digging it at all. Way way too much instrumentals. deloused was good, better then Sparta's first album, but Procelain would have to be my favorite out of both of these bands efforts so far.

Of course At the Drive Inn is much better then both.

I dig Sparta, but I do like the Mars Volta more. I'm totally loving Frances through about 3 or 4 listens. Fantastic stuff. Porcelain was good, shoot I liked Wiretap Scars quite a bit too... but I like both Mars Volta albums better :/

Well I guess I did like a few songs off Frances the Mute. I just feel there was way to much dead time in the songs. I suspose I just dont like their style.

I preferred Wiretap Scars over Porcelain. I genuinely like both Sparta and TMV but Frances the Mute just blows my mind, especially Cassandra Geminni. I've listened to it a ton so far and haven't grown tired yet.

I don't like The Mars Volta much anymore. I can only put up with their level of drama for so long, then I want Cedric to shut the hell up. Fast. They just try way too fuckin hard.

But i suppose that's better than not trying at all.

Sparta sucked from day one. Such a cool name, such a waste.

Wiretap Scars was a great album and I'm not sure why everyone thinks it sucks.
But their latest is just terrible. Only the first few songs are good.

I like Wiretap Scars a LOT!
Porcelain is lame.

But the Mars Volta I don't like at all.....I didn't like At the drive in very much either...
