Amazon DD Sales Thread

I have a $5 off code I would be willing to trade if you have anything on STEAM you want to trade. I would just give this code away but am holding out for Hot Pursuit going on sale for cheap. If you offer me something enticing I will trade the code though if you want DS2 for free (great game by the way)
 
If I buy DS2 right now, would I be able to use that code in the future to trade other people for something I'd actually want? (don't want to buy non-Steam games lol)
 
If anyone has like 10 codes that you don't think you'll end up using entirely, would you consider passing one off to me so I can get a deal on Alice next week? I'd be most grateful.
 
At what time do the deals go live?
In the main Best of 2011 Sale page, Alice is already $7.50, but when you click it, it says $25.
 
Oh man, last code. Will it be Alice, or should I wait for Bulletstorm?!?

Edit: well... Bulletstorm is more likely to go on sale again for a lower price in the future, right?

Apparently yes, I read it's going to be 2 bucks using a coupon
 
After getting Alice I have TWO COUPONS LEFT. Going to get Dragon Age and Bulletstorm. I reallly regret using one of my coupons on Duke Nukem, I could've used that coupon to get Dead Space 2 for free.
 
Hmm. I was going to pick up Alice, but the Dragon Age games for $7 or whatever seems like a crazy-good deal. Would I be stupid to use my coupon on those and just pay $7.50 for Alice, too?

You can download it through Origin or through Amazon itself. You can redeem the code on Origin so you have two places with a digital copy available. Origin isn't required at all from what I can tell.

Users\yourname\documents\Amazon Downloads
At least I think that's the right path, unless you install the Amazon Games Software Downloader, which lets you choose where to store the downloaded games.

I'd buy Alice, but my old PC's ATI Radeon HD 2400 isn't good enough. Is there a thread on GAF for trading up graphics cards?

I don't want or need the latest card, but it's time to upgrade and am sure PCGAF has some good cards that they aren't using.
 
Got Alice today and holy shit is that one gorgeous game. I didn't know Unreal Engine could look so beautiful. Artistically this game is a masterpiece, shame it didn't sell more. Wow!

I'm having the same reaction. The environments in this game are stunning. Note sure if I'm liking the combat too much, though.
 
In 1080p 3D this game is amazing, so much atmosphere. Although I didn't expect some low rez textures here and there. Oh well, still one of my top 5 games of 2011


You can get the extra costumes on alice by editing
GameEngine.ini's value from

GIsSpecialEditionPC=FALSE to
GIsSpecialEditionPC=TRUE

This also shows a "Run Alice 1 Game" on main menu but doesn't launch anything since the datafiles are missing I presume
 
I already own all of these games but I'm tempted to pick up the Dragon Age pack just because I haven't played any of the DLC for the first game and I don't want to deal with all the Bioware points bullshit. Hell just buying Witch Hunt from Bioware is more expensive than the pack with the coupon.

Bulletstorm is the Beavis and Butthead of FPS. It may be for you, but it boring, immature to eye-rolling extremes and not really well made, IMO.

Dragon Age is as close to a modern Baldur's Gate as we're going to get, and there is a reason why it's still talked about in nearly every RPG thread. It's a great game, but don't expect the second coming of RPG Jesus.

Uh? Beavis & Butthead's new season is one of the best new shows in years, and Bulletstorm is an extremely well-made game that is actually FUN and feels fresh, unlike many modern shooters.
