Amazon DD Sales Thread

I'm wondering why the download size of Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc's from Amazon is 600MB but from GOG.com is 1.2GB? Both are DRM-FREE.

BTW: Is this Windows 7 compatible? I bought it already so I don't know if it will run well!

Multiple language support perhaps? A lot of PAL games are bigger then US releases as well because they may contain 4 or 5 different language tracks.

Bought three games last night and still haven't gotten my second free game credit. This was after the price was altered to 5 bucks to fix the one cent bug. I have no credit showing at all and haven't gotten an email. I'm sure support will get it straightened out no problem.

Resisting CoJ2 and HAWX... backlog to big... haven't even been playing games... must be strong...

Have you gotten sorted yet? If not, PM me :).

Origin is having a store sale for the week, is Amazon gonna price match anything?

I'd also like to know. Let's see if Amazon comes through on this one as there are some really good deals.

Here are some prices for the U.S.:

After 50% off:

Battlefield 3 - $29.99
Batman: Arkham City - $24.99
Dead Rising 2: Off Record - $14.99
Need for Speed: The Run - $19.99
Saints Row 3 - $24.99
Sims 3 - $14.99
Sims 3 Pets - $19.99
Super Street Fighter IV AE - $19.99
Crysis - $9.99
Crysis Warhead - $9.99
Crysis 2 - $19.99
FIFA 12 - $19.99

Quite a few others as well (Dragon Age, ME1 and 2, Dead Space 2, that type of stuff). Personally I'd buy Arkham City and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record.

EDIT: doesn't look like Amazon has Arkham City download version :-/

The UK has these for 50% off (can't confirm these as I'm in the U.S.):

Battlefield 3 Back to Karkand Expansion Pack
Crysis 2
FIFA Soccer 12
Mass Effect 2
Medal of Honor
Need for Speed The Run
Shank
SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition
The Sims 3 Pets
The Sims 3 Master Suite Stuff
Saints Row: The Third

Huh, Amazon hooked me up with a code for one free EA game (from a limited selection) to make up for the problems with installing ME3. I dropped my ME3 key into Origin so it was no problem for me.

Anyways, the games are Mass Effect 1, Mirror's Edge, Dead Space 1 and Dragon Age: Origins. I have all of them, so whoever quotes this first can have the code.

They did the same for me as well. I guess everyone who bought ME3 on amazon get's the free game code. I got Dragon Age Origin, myself.

Alright, time to match Origin's $10 price for Mass Effect so I don't have to give EA my money directly! Or heck, if you wanna beat 'em and go for $7.50, I'm fine with that, too.

10 bucks for ME1 isn't really a good deal. It's been on sale for $5 and ~ $7.50 in the past. But really it's just a few dollars and if you haven't gotten into the series yet... good god get into it ASAP, best space opera ever.

I'm wanting to get into it now that the third one is out. I actually played a little of 2 the other day (which I got on sale a long time ago for $5), but if I can get the first one for half its normal price, I'll pay it now. Best deal or not, I don't care, I'll likely have to wait another 3 months to get it cheaper. $10 is better than $20.

Meh, was going to buy Kingdoms of Amalur on origin for £17.50, but I kept getting "Payment Authorisation Failed" with both cards and my paypal account. Ended up just buying the retail version for £2.50 more elsewhere without any trouble. I have a funny feeling it's because they use Digital River. I had the same issue with ubisofts store, who also use them too.

Goddamn that deal. So picked up Rainbow Six Vegas 1&2 for 5 bucks. Can't beat that. Liked the first on 360 and never bought the second. So to get both for 5 bucks on PC with no DRM is a freaking steal.

In regards to DRM, what if I already purchased a version of one of the games currently on sale during a past sale. For example I purchased Far Cry 2 and Vegas 2 during the Christmas sale. Were these games already DRM free from the get go? Or are the games currently on sale some sort of special DRM free versions? If I were to re download the games will I get the DRM free version or no?

Tony has said in the past that if you bought a game through Amazon at a time when that game had DRM, and then the DRM gets removed at a later point in time, you can simply re-download the game and you'll have the DRM-free version. It's hard to imagine that a company would decide to reintroduce DRM after they've removed it. So if you don't feel like re-downloading it right now, I'm sure you could do so sometime down the line.

Yeah just go for it. And don't play anymore of the second till you finish the first.

Hey guys I need some help... I downloaded Rayman 3 but I can't play it with none of my game pads (Xbox 360 or Logitech Rumble Pad 2), and It seems that this aren't supported by the game... it's a shame that such a game (and a deal) can't be played with a gamepad!

Edt: Well It seems that the game itself has a gamepad+usb mouse conflict, for me, I just need to unplug the usb mouse and just connect the gamepad!

My wired 360 pad works with the game, but not the menus.

I know this is the amazon thread but I didn't know where else to ask. Has anybody managed to get bioware points to show the 50% off ? I know sometimes it would only show up if you added it a certain way.

Should I pm you too? It's been already over one day since opening the ticket

Yes please do PM me or just email me at aricharv@amazon.com and we can connected directly so we can resolve.

Yes, we'll update your version in the Games and Software Library

Has anyone heard if Amazon will match the Origin Deal? I would rather throw my dollars towards Amazon.

Do you think they'll match the price of SSFIV:AE so I can get it for $19.99?

*wink, wink* tony *nudge,nudge*

Sorry for the delay on this guys I was out with my GF celebrating her Bday and completion of finals (Dental school) last night so I didn't get a chance to pop in and confirm all the pricing action. I'm putting stuff in place now so stay tuned as the hamsters begin to turn their wheels and prices flip.

Cheers,
Tony

Hey, Tony. You guys appear to be price matching Gamer'sGate's price on Neverwinter Nights 2 (Mac) $0.99.

Neverwinter Nights 2 (Mac) - Amazon
Neverwinter Nights 2 (Mac) - Gamer'sGate

I was wondering if you were at all able to suggest or influence additions to Amazon's library of available Game Downloads. You do have the retail version of Dungeons and Dragons Neverwinter Nights The Complete Collection available for sale, and the digital download version of Neverwinter Nights 2 for the Mac available as well, but not digital downloads of any of the other Neverwinter Nights games. GamersGate has the digital version of Dungeons and Dragons Neverwinter Nights The Complete Collection available for sale, I was hoping that you would too. I would much rather buy from Amazon.
