it is pretty worthless for mitx without pcie4 or even a nvme slot.

A shame. Strangely even the AMD A9-9820 (re-purposed Xbox One SoC for PC) had an NVMe slot.

The PCIe Gen2 is what kills it. Even tho I'm pretty sure this CPU is capable of gen4 (isn't that exactly what it used for the console SSD?!).
