AMD Radeon 9070XT review thread

I'm considering getting one of these to replace my rtx 3070. Seems like a good 1440p card, if I ever buy a new monitor that actually supports that resolution.
Its roughly 80% faster from ur 3070 on avg
About getting 1440p monitor- its great choice coz u can always use res scaling in more demanding games, i do it on my 4k monitor and 3080ti in most demanding/newest games is nowhere near strong enough anymore but count in dlss and it can last me till future 5080ti/super or 60xx cards(or amd's rdna 5, i welcome any great gpu with open mind here).

I guess I got lucky because I was only interested in that model, which meant when orders opened they didn't evapourate in seconds like the MSRP models.

I'm very happy with it yeah, the cable management is genius.

I will probably get another Nitro when I build a new pc in a few years.
Just checked for stock, saw Pure and Nitro+, and went for it - bough the Nitro+!

Now I need to buy the rest of a new build to match, as it might be a slight bottleneck to put it alongside my i5 4690k from 2013 or whatever it was.

Congrats! I'd recommend using a native 12 pin for the GPU. My Corsair PSU predated that power cable but luckily they sold a backwards compatible one that plugs in to two PCI slots.

Just a slight one..... and by slight i mean
really fucking huge. In fact I'd bet that GPU is being neutured to 6600 speeds

My local Microcenter got a handful of XFX Quicksilver 9070 XTs in this afternoon and I raced over after work. Apparently unnecessary as I was the first one there, but I wasn't chancing it. Bought above MSRP, of course ($860 pre-tax), but my current rig... has been chugging along in a concerning manner recently, so I'd rather get started on a fresh build sooner rather than later.

It's a nice card. And considering closest alternative in 5070Ti cost around $950-1000 now days, it's a very solid choice.

I ordered a 5070ti from Newegg yesterday for $840 which will be here Tuesday, so $900 with taxing and shipping. The 5070ti prices have started dropping. Heck there are $899 versions available now as we speak. At what point does the 9700xt price with markups lose the value at the lower price point? Sure at $599 that makes sense and is a good price. But when you get above $800, I don't know. Bazzite maybe is a justifiable reason? I weighted both options, before jumping on the card. I actually ordered a 9070xt and 5070ti each before cancelling each, finally decided on reordering the 5070ti a couple days later for the same price due to NVidia suite and ray tracing performance delta over the 9700xt. Silly that the 9700xt has ballooned to over 140% over the original msrp. But who knows with the tariffs maybe this will be the norm, as they seem to be going back and forth every other week of what is and isnt excluded.

Yeah, that's the big question, isn't it. If we have a 9070xt and 5070Ti approaching same retail price, the overall choice becomes much more interesting.

Personally I wound up keeping 5080 that I managed to get near MSRP, but a 9070XT would still have been interesting due to better Linux support and much closer performance vs prior gen unless we are talking Path Tracing.

Personally I'll lean towards AMD if things continue as they are. It's clear Nvidia don't give a fuck about gaming anymore.

AMD have released some very gamer orientated products in the last few years, particularly the x3D CPUs and RDNA 4. If they show the appetite to fill the void that Nvidia are leaving then I'll support them.

FSR4 not working with Game Pass unfortunately.AMD need to find a way to add games to Adrenaline

Gamepass is always causing problems on PC. I had a ton of them.
Just recently, the Lords of the Fallen patch dropped and people are having problems using DLSS4 with the Gamepass version. But the Steam version works fine.
It's because of things like these, that I will never, ever, buy a game on the Microsoft store.

Currently contemplating an HTPC build in a Fractal Terra. Was about to order a 5080 until i saw the thing is only 20% faster for 60% higher price where i live (compared to the 9070 XT).

Can anyone report how 4K gaming is on this card? Natively with sub Ultra settings, Ultra with FSR4 and so on. Can you get stable 60fps most of the time? Are you satisfied with your purchase?

I currently have a 16gb card. Currently selling used for more than I paid for it. I'm going to get a ripoff 9070 xt now and sit on it. See if this 6800 will be going up to some equally dumb price during the return period. God this is fucking stupid.

Rendering native is possible in many Games. But who wants 60fps ?
Using FSR 4 is far better imo. It also has many instances ( for example witcher 3 ) where aliasing is done very poorly and fsr improves image quality alot.

Witcher 3 4K is very playable with my 9070xt. I insert fsr 4 via optiscaler and activate framegen.

For Controller gameplay very Nice. M+KB i Need / want 200fps after framegen. Atleast.
