"American journalists will shout like teenage girls at a Backstreet Boys concert"

I agree with them. That stuff at the Nintendo conference last year was insane. Same with the cheering at the Xbox one as well, but to a lesser degree. I don't remember much about the Sony one as it put me to sleep.

Just because you didn't vote yes for the European Constitution or currency yet doesn't make you any less European. You were born in a European Nation.
I know, I'm not the one saying I'm not European. :lol

No need to wish mate.
I'm not.
Are you kidding me? You mix up politics and geographics. You can even put it both ways and you are still a member of EU (the European Union) and your country still resides within Europe. You must be in complete denial. That's not what worries me though. You claim that the "people" wants another political path and yet you can't tell the difference between borders and unions. European, asian, american and so on has all to do with geographic relation. It doesn't mean you support bush or a united europe.

Eu·ro·pe·an

n.

A native or inhabitant of Europe.

lmao at that map :lol Reminds me of an Eddie Izzard joke:

"Britain needs to be in the driving seat of Europe. Or the passenger seat, that's fine too. But we're not even in the European Union car atm...we're outside the car saying 'We're going to clean your windows!'" :D

And, yes, I'm British. I'm not European. I only say I'm from Europe when I'm talking to people who don't know where Britain (especially England) is :lol I'm from Britain, just like I'm from Europe, but Europe isn't a single state or country (like America is)

Or if I'm in an "I hate the Scottish and Welsh" mood, I say I'm English :D Someone I work with, her dad always writes on any form his nationality as "Very English" :lol

How.

First and foremost i'm British
Who cares what you think.

On topic.

I hope IGn give us more longtime humour with their reactions to what Ninty do this year. We need a new photo to abuse and use

Oh my, there's an airtight analogy :lol

So it's like this now:
Asia
North America
South America
Africa
Australia
Europe
Britain...?

Where you were born decides if you are a European, Asian etc. Not what political opinions you have.

You must have missed alot of geography lessons in school ThongDonk.

I'll never understand the kind of people who roar and scream at the sight of an "event" like Master Chief picking up a second weapon... But I'm hoping that the majority of the shouters are just planted in the crowd by companies.

For what it's worth, the new Backstreet Boys song is pretty good, so I'll forgive any american journalists for their incessant screaming.

please tell me you are joking...

I thought you had to be 12 or under to be allowed to listen to that crap. :lol :lol :lol

After the several dozen comments I've seen interspersed through GAF and members' journals/blogs about how they (as US videogame journalists) are annoyed by the sheer vapidity of European journalists' presence at E3 and ensuing idiotic questioning of esteemed videogame developers/visionaries, I found this at eurogamer:

Discuss.

I still remember the reactions to the Zelda trailer.

LMAO at this thread. You lot make me laugh so much :lol

AMERICA IS A COUNTRY!!! A country. One country. It is divided up into States but it is still one COUNTRY. Understand that? Europe is a SERIES OF COUNTRIES...independant of each other but they have agreed on common interests to promote trade between countries. THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE!!!!

im English, screw scotland, Wales!!

lol - you win :lol

That has absolutely no bearing on whether a person is European or not.

There's no such thing as a European person :lol Did you even read what I wrote?

Ok then, a person (ie me) was born in England. That makes me English. Random guy number 2 was born in Frankfurt. That makes him German. Do we come under the same heading? No - I'm English and the other guy is German

I give this thread 10 EU stars out of 12!

Either way, I daresay most Brits cringe when they see Americans whooping and hollering or whatever the hell you do :p I still remember being in the local cinema when at the end of a film some American tourists started yelling only to get 10 or so buckets of popcorn thrown at the and being told to shut up :lol Either way us Scots take the piss out of everyone, including ourselfs. Tartan shops must make a mint out of Americans "oh looks sir! we just hapen to have your ancestors tartan! It also happens to be the most expensive in the shop!"

As for whether Im European or not, its a fact of life that I am, not that I consider myself one (then again I dont consider myself British).

Out of interest, do Canadians consider themselves north american?

And is there a video of that crane? :D

Yeah, and you're both European. Your girlfriend is female, you're male, you're both human.

This is the stupidest argument I've seen on GAF in a long time. You can't choose whether you're European or not. It doesn't matter what you consider yourself to be. Being British does not stop you being European. It does not however, for example, make you French.

I cannot believe anyone is even arguing against this.

No, they might escape, we cant take that risk, we'll give them the equipment to start a fire in there, then watch as it turns into an inferno due to the conditions.

Ps. How did Kilroy get an account here?

By "Discuss" I meant "discuss the topic of the thread", not "discuss any random assortment of unrelated bullshit, especially insane concepts like whether or not Britain is fundamentally part of Europe based on political relevance or geographical location, or when adhering to ThongyDonk's perception of nationality".

Thanks for ruining the thread!

Is that aimed at me? Because if you're trying to compare me to a racist then you're completely wrong and, more importantly, you've really offended me.

Out of interest, how do you manage that, given that Northern Ireland isn't part of Britain?

its part of Great Britain, not Britain on its own (which is wales, scotland, england) make it great and it throws in Ireland :p

then theres the whole protestant bollocks

Um. No. Making it Great throws in the various pissy little islands that surround the mainland. Still doesn't include Ireland, though.

That's why the full name of the UK is "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland".

I suppose you get to be UKish, though. Or UKian. Or whatever.
