No difference at all on the actual amiibo. The packaging is slightly different, but still reads in English primarily, with other languages as well. Definitely feel encouraged to import, especially if they're going to be opened.

So he can read English. He'll just see a mutli-language box? That's not so bad at all as long as the toy itself isn't covered in German or French or Italian on the bottom. Thanks!

Excellent post! It's nice that they're region free, so people who just want to open them can import for cheaper than selling your soul on eBay. I'm sticking to all NA anyway!
