By the way, had a brief interaction with a scalper on Kijiji yesterday.
Saw someone post an ad with multiple wave 3 Amiibos (to be fair the most he had of one was 3) with no prices so I figured I knew where it was going right off the Bat.
Decided to email him and offered $20 cdn for an Ike.
His reply: Never.
So I wrote back: I figured you were a scalper, just wanted to confirm that you were.
Then he writes: Figured you were a fag, didn't need to confirm.

I finished Kid Icarus Uprising, the other day. Incredible game. Really something special.
Now massively regretting not having bought a Pit, and it's £20+ everywhere I've seen which I just can't justify, even though I've seen people pay way more!

Yes! I will bookmark this post because it explains it perfectly! It would be ideal if we could get 8 or 16 amiibos to give away. That way, it's an easy tournament bracket to make. But if it's somewhere in between that (or MORE than 16), I can figure it out. Maybe if we have 12, we could have three 4-man matches and then the three winners battle for the top prizes.

I'm closely monitoring the weather before deciding to head tomorrow morning. Everything would have been fine if only today were the release day! I'm hoping against hope that there might be a short window where target.com will allow orders again so I won't have to go out in dismal weather in hopes of securing a Rosalina.

Anything can do!

Dunno, ask the guys who are actually giving out Amiibos, I just want the fame and fortune. They are giving like a pit or something.
Conditions:
Don´t participate if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, or are just incredibly lazy. Well, you can participate if you ask nice enough, i won´t tell anyone

Another consideration is instead of using modbot, you can have people choose an amiibo to compete and have a few rounds until you guys come down to the number of prizes you guys are giving away then go from there.
So say you have 8 amiibos to give away. Have everyone pick one of the 8. Say 16 pick and 5 people pick one of the same and that one turns out to be a winner and so you need 3 more. Go to the 2nd place amiibo and see who survived that. If you have more than necessary then do a mini tourny for those folks to get your 3 and then go from there. Might be a bit too complex and hard to get the exact number but would make it more interesting.

What they do just put them in a bubble envelope?

Hey guys, if I want to try to get rosalina tomorrow, will I need to be there first thing or will i need to arrive later at target? US resident here.
I was originally going to change it to country since it's an import but felt it was better if I just left it as is but I guess I'll do a few other variations. Anyone know the actual Super Mario Bros. font. Apparently the first and third game's font is a bit different... *glares at the I*

Don't leave anything up to chance, and be aware that getting there early doesn't guarantee getting one going by a lot of people's experience with Lucario yesterday.

I'd get there first thing in the morning, at least a little before they open. If it's anything like TRU and Lucario it's going to be a mad house...

Well, the only issue with not doing modbot, I guess. Is that it doesn't limit the number of people that would want to enter. If we really wanted to make this complicated. We could just open a sign up sheet, and whoever wants to enter could. Then you allow 50 + people to enter. Then you do tournaments and kind of just get it down to the winners.
I think what we were considering now is just basically....
Modbot raffle to randomly pick who wins and gets to enter (limiting the tournament to 16 people -- or whatever final number we settle on based on the prizes we have)...
Figure out how each person that has now won to be in the tournament gets to choose who their amiibo is to represent them (we might make this part random too, or we might do draws and let people pick based on the order of the draw)...
And then have the final rankings of the overall tournament, and allow each person to pick ONE prize (so everyone gets a prize). But the 1st place gets to pick first. And then the 2nd. And so on. So obviously last place would get stuck with whatever is left.

No one really knows. If you really want her, go first thing. That's what most people here are doing (myself included). Some are going hours early to line up.
I honestly kinda think Rosalina could very likely end up being well-stocked all the time. But we just don't know yet.
I feel your pain. I was supposed to receive my Lucario a couple of a days ago too. I figured it must have gotten hung up in customs or something.
I'm in the same boat buddy. I contacted support and they said wait until two weeks then contact them again. I'm still getting up at the crack of dawn to go hunting though.

I wouldn't go hours early. Target wont hand out tickets, and scalpers just run to electronics when the store opens anyways.
