If Meta-Knight and King Dedede are going to be hard to find even with Kirby & The Rainbow Curse coming, then I don't expect the FE cast to be easy either.
NoA bringing back Marth will probably be just as much of a formality as NoA doing special edition games and systems. It will be a joke and they will supply little to none.
At the very least I HOPE Amiibos are different because there is a ton of money to be made from selling rares, and if NoA refuse to sell more then they are just plain terrible at being a business.
The worst thing about all of this is that unless Marth is bundled with the game, there is no way to make sure that people who buy Codename Steam are also the ones buying Marth or any of the other characters. Despite awesome functionality, only an incredibly small amount of players will even be able to use the features.

I thought they reprinted a ton of Metroid Prime Trilogy to meet demand.

Once all the smash amiibo are out I wouldn't expect many of them to be re manufactured. Nintendo will move on with other series like the mario line or others. I think a rosalina amiibo in the mario series was sort of spotted in the direct for mario party 10.

I think people just want them to re-stock ones that didn't even have barely any stock at release. So like Shiek for instance. Stock was abysmal so far. The hope is they re-stock her in late Feb or March. But yeah, re-stock or re-prints beyond that are not going to happen.

I'm going at it under the assumption that they are doing this as a limited run just to promote Codename Steam's Amiibo functionality. At that NoA's sales expectations for the game will probably greatly influence Marth's available stock. (meaning it won't be much)
Who knows, maybe they're finally going to stop starving NA on at least one of the characters. I expect that to happen anyway, but I'm not sure if it will happen now or later...
I think Gamestop commissioned and funded a reprint and it wasn't with the Steelbook.

Is it common practice to have a physical placeholder at the store and then not have that item available ever? Because the Target I got Rosalina from today definitely had a placeholder labeled "Mega Man" right next to Rosalina. I thought he was just sold out.

Sometimes. Mega Man def isn't on sale yet. I think it's Feb 13th or the 20th. A lot of Wave 3 got pushed back to multiple release dates. Sonic and Mega Man are late Feb.
My guess is, someone at that Target saw all the Skus for Wave 3, and updated the shelf without realizing there was a delay on a lot of them.

Well I failed in my hunt to due working overtime this weekend. I drove to two targets in this blizzard and nothing. If anyone has spare rosalinas I will trade a villager for one.

I'd hold on to the Villager, man. Rosalina is still up in the air right now as to final rarity. Villager is pretty set in stone as an ultra rare.

I decided to change my Meta Knight pre-order from in store pick up to shipping. I did the same for the rest of my Wave 3 pre-orders a while ago. I don't trust in store pick up after my local Best Buy didn't have both Little Mac and Pitt that I had pre-ordered. I was lucky to find Pitt at Gamestop though. But I'm still missing Little Mac.
Hit up the local Target at 10 AM today. Asked for Rosalina. They said people lined up at 6 AM and they sold out right when they opened. The next nearest Target was also sold out.
I swung by the local Meijer and they had four Toon Links and one Sheik, so I snatched one of each. It wasn't a total loss at least but the scarcity of Rosalina is pretty disappointing.

Dedede is like twice as heavy.
a few reasons, but mainly the realization that I could have bought a wii u for the money I've spent on them. Plus, I'm never going to be able to reasonably collect all of them.
I just wanted Fox and now I have 20 of them.
