Man, I can't find Toon Link anywhere for the life of me. Meanwhile, I haven't heard a peep from GameStop about my King Dedede pre-order... I hope they come through. I have this strange feeling they won't. Haven't heard from Amazon about my Mega Man and Sonic pre-orders either... getting a bad feeling there too.
Strange thing, though - when I was checking a couple of Targets for Toon Link tonight, an employee told me they had gotten (and sold out of) their only stock of Mega Man more than a month ago... at the same time they got their first shipments of Zelda and Diddy Kong. I thought Mega Man wasn't supposed to be out in North America until later this month? Either this employee doesn't know who Mega Man actually is or the amiibo shipment weirdness is worse than I thought.

I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna get him but Shulk looks great. I still haven't played Xenoblade yet so don't have a liking for the character but I'm sure fans of the game who will be able to nab one shouldn't be disappointed, going off the pictures I've seen.
I am kinda tempted to just splurge and collect all of the Smash ones, but as the waves go on there's less and less I really want, but they're still a nice thing to collect, albeit stressful. I'm still annoyed I had to order from nippon-yassan today to get some in case Nintendo don't do a reprint. Here's my current collection, I'm running out of space. Toon Link, Sheik, and Diddy came today, and I picked up Pikachu with a voucher I had, and he looks better than the prototype images, which had put me off beforehand (also, because you can go anywhere and pick up a Pikachu toy), but now he's one of my favourites, just because he's so simple and brings a yellow -pop- of colour.

I got my Target-preordered Rosalina and Luma in the mail today.
The quality actually seems quite nice -- the detail on the eye, the wand, the fingernails, and the crown seem pretty precise.
With Kirby, Peach, and Rosalina+Luma collected, I think that's all the Amiibo's I was interested in. MAYBE a zero Suit Samus or Duck Hunt later.

Sounds like they confused Mega Man and Little Mac. Mac released the same day as Diddy and Zelda.

I don't know. Don't see anything that really screams higher quality. Maybe the hair at the most?
I feel like Smash Amiibos have more detail. But have inconsistent production quality. When you get a perfect Amiibo IMO it's better than Infinity. Well, what I've seen of them. It's what is so frustrating. The potential is there.
Then again, I guess it comes down to the characters. And I just like Nintendo more than Disney. So I guess that is a bias to consider. But all bias aside, I can see Infinity being better purely production wise.

That sounds hilarious and random as hell. I've been lucky, and all 100% of my amiibos are perfect save for Marth who has a weird sword.
Edit: although some aren't great design wise. :/

I will! I'm hoping it's possible- their faq said they don't do full body sculpts but can do smaller ones and I wasn't sure what that would fall under since it's not like the villagers have any real shape to them. lol
The face on most Disney infinity figures are better too. More lively. Though that could be contributed to the more uniformed direction the Disney figures take. While Mario, Dedede, Bowser and other amiibo can look as good as the Disney figures, characters that are more realistic like Link, Marth, etc. don't. The Disney figures all have bigger heads allowing for more detail.

King Dedede is better. And he is as heavy too. He has more texture detail too that pop up and you can feel them. Might be the best amiibo overall.
Yes, faces on Infinity figures are much more consistent. Still think Amiibos have higher potential with the texture details. But yeah production is inconsistent and shoddy at times

In America at least, the foo' is everywhere. So if there is going to be a shortage on him, it won't be too soon.

Not even close. He's being shipped in Mario-like quantities.
Probably issues with the east coast blizzard, transportation, and customs if you're in the states.

I haven't held (or for that matter seen) DDD in person so I can't really comment but I'll take your word for it.
Bowser will more than likely be the most common amiibo from wave 3. You can get him now if you want but there's no rush.
Bowser is the most common in Wave 3. Sheik is the most uncommon out of the non exclusives. Toon Link is then the next. Then Lucario. I expect Ike will have awful supply. Dedede will also prob be supply constrained.
But Bowser is the most plentiful.

That's lazy Eye Bowser. Thankfully he's the most common. So you should be able to get a replacement quick.

Haha, s'all good, it is kinda funny. Still wanna return him for one that's not cross-eyed/lazy-eyed. Such a cool looking figure otherwise.

As a collector of both amiibo and DI I much prefer amiibo. DI was clearly designed in a way to make manufacturing and rendering a lot easier and I think while a lot of characters look great, it's really awful for certain others like Woody and Buzz. I also think the poses are really uninspired for DI. So many repeat poses. I know a lot of people hate Luigi's pose but I don't think it's out of character. He's always been the goofy brother and it's clearly based on his victory pose in Smash. It does come down to preference but I will say that I get much more enjoyment from simply looking at amiibo than DI.
Yep. Just held both to test. Dedede almost feels heavier at first, but it's because Dedede has all his weight centered. Bowsers weight is distributed throughout and is heavier.

Bowser, and non female Mario characters look fantastic. Same with DDD and a handful of others. Once you get the more realistic characters with smaller heads and more human like proportions there's a pretty big quality difference imo. I mean most still look pretty good but imagine how good they could all look if they took a more stylized approach to all the characters the way Disney did with infinity. There's a reason the Toon Link amiibo looks so much better then normal Link.

My bowser looks identical to this one. Maybe the eye thing is pretty common? Hopefully your replacement is better.

This thread moves really quickly, and I haven't been keeping up with the madness - does anyone know the status of Ike in the US? I pre-ordered one off Amazon back in November, and the order status says they're trying to figure out a delivery date, so it doesn't seem like it'll be shipping in the near future..
But it seems some people in this thread already have Ike - are those from other countries, or is Ike already available in the US from other retailers?

Main reason I can't really stand it is because I bought one for my brother, and I compared the two. It can't be unseen after that!

Wat. The Amiibos are alot better. Honesly the Amiibos look the best of the three NFC sets, coming from someone who bought alot of Skylanders back in the day. They do seem tobe a tad too small tho.
Kirby has that weird thing in the back so I wouldn't say S Tier but close. Of the ones I have, Samus, Pit, Luigi, Rosalina, and Yoshi, I'd say Samus is best then Luigi then Rosalina then Pit then Yoshi.

I actually have enough for one more Amiibo right now and am debating spending it with amazon (none of my stores hardly have anything but Mario, Peach and the ocasional DK and Pikachu) Or waiting on either Mega Man or Meta Knight (Or DeDeDe/Shulk/Ike if Can't get those.) I dunno if I want to brave a line again unless its an Amiibo I want 100% and I got all the ones I truly wanted. Mega Man and Meta Knight are up there tho.
Guess I could also save it for a Lucina GS preorder if nothing else. This decision shouldn't be this hard XD.
