Amiibo Thread 3 | Where release dates are made up and preorders don't matter!

I'm trying to imagine how nonsensical the situation must have been for that First In Line Guy.

I dunno. I'm at a Starbucks looking for a way to psyche myself up for the Best Buy wait nearby. Last I saw, nobody was lining up.

Of course, it's cold as winter death here today in NYC so that might have to do with it. Maybe I'll get a second hot chocolate...
 
Went to the Sandy Springs Prado location in Atlanta at 7:55. No one in line. They had to find the Rosalina amiibo in the back - gave me one and put one out on the shelf. Pretty easy.
 
15 people lined up before I arrived at Target 5 minutes before they opened. The Target staff were prepared, the girl who opened the door said they had plenty and just please don't run and when we got back there they had all of the amiibos at the electronics counter and in a shopping were a bunch of Rosalina. They only got like 3 or 4 of Sheik and Toon Link but that's okay I didn't come for them and it was fine since they sold out by the time it was my turn anyway. Managed to pick up 2 Rosalina. Success! Thank you, Target for ordering enough at my store that everyone who lined up was able to get theirs.

One thing I noticed about the one Rosalina I got is that her wand isn't angled very much. I wonder if it's a defect.

Did you and/or anyone at the counter boo the guy when he tried to buy the whole whole? I would've.
 
I'm so glad that most people so far got what they wanted. I ended up not going to mine, but I did call to see what was up. The guy told me all Rosie's sold out in 6 mins, and there were only 4 Bowsers left.
 
Successful trip managed to get my Rosie. My target had around 32 rosalinas and a shit ton of toon links. There was about 15-20 people in line by 8:00am and everyone was super curtious, keeping the line all the way to the register, I was pretty impressed.

Ok here is the deal my fellow amiibo gaffers this is technically my second sheik as i have another pre-ordered at my local gamestop so ima hold onto that one to possibly trade for one of the other 2 characters i didnt get a chance to pre-order of wave 3 which is shulk and meta knight.
 
Even though there were around 20 people in line, my wife was able to get a rosalina! Waterford lakes is sold out, only bowser left this morning

Sounds like the Target I went to this morning, except I managed to get Sheik and Toon Link. Probably going to trade my 2nd Rosalina. I wouldn't have gotten it, but there were enough that everyone that was there at opening was going to get one. These are my first amiibos, so I'm glad I had such a good experience.

Haha, he was a neck-beard and was kind of breathing heavy after his brisk jog from the front door to the back of the store, so you're not too far off.

No, he was there with a group of like 6 other people and he tried to play it off like it was a joke. If he had been successful in getting the whole box, there might have been a riot.
 
Just met up with a guy who was at the store. Really nice guy, but he told me my store actually had 4 Sheik in the back! I can't believe I missed getting her.
 
No luck for me :(. Got to my Target in Clifton, NJ and there was like 30 people lined up in Electronics. Got in line anyway but Rosalina was gone by the time I got halfway through the line.

Looks like they got 30-40 and they were very strict with the 1 only rule. It sounded like it was only 1 amiibo per customer and if you wanted another character you had to get back in line.
