Not much to say - we had a nice line outside and it all went to hell once they opened the doors. No tickets, just every man for him/herself. The first 5 of us took care of each other but she snuck in after that. Even had some people in line yelling at her.
 
Got my Rosalina amiibo today, so I can cancel that import order. The same two guys that bought the entire stock of Lucario on Friday were here as well, and they recognized me. No apologies issued, they said it was "strictly business" and that everyone had the opportunity to do the same (which is absolute bullshit). Also in line was a GameStop employee who told me that they had ordered more Shulk units to hopefully cover past pre-orders, so my fingers are crossed for the 13th.

After I obtained my Amiibo, however, the two scalpers proceeded to clean house for the rest of the stock - much to the dismay of everyone else in line who didn't pre-order, especially the GameStop employee. I have a feeling that these two are going to try and pull the same shit on the 13th with Shulk; and I'm sure the GameStop employee will remember their faces upon check out, so I'll probably have another Amiibo story on that day as well.

I got to my Target at about 7:35AM, expecting at least a few other people to be there (or at least waiting in their cars), but it was just me. I decided to take no chances and got out of my car and went and sat by the door, first in a soon-to-form line. At just after 7:40, another guy came, and then shortly after him, another guy with his girlfriend. They all seemed like good people and we talked a little bit about the state of amiibos, how we had fared with the other figures, etc.

By 7:55, there were probably around 12-14 people in line. A mom and son, some parents with their daughter, and some others. I let everyone know that I wasn't going to make any sort of mad dash and would appreciate not being trampled, which got some chuckles. Everything was going smoothly until the doors opened and the parents of the daughter (she was probably about eleven or twelve) start yelling GO! and she takes off like a bat out of hell. Seeing her, some others started to run, and I could tell that some people were trying to take a diverted route so that they could run unhindered. Awesome, herewego.gif.

Get to electronics and ask the guy looking smug at the counter if the new amiibos are out with the others, or behind the counter, and he says that everything is out so the herd heads in that general direction. At this exact moment, I remember thinking that if only these bastards would have come out, told us how many they had, handed out tickets, this could have been a lot easier. The guy second or third in line had called last night and asked what the plan was for this morning, and the manager of electronics told him "We can't divulge stock numbers or any information whatsoever about tomorrow morning". Apparently the plan was "every man for his fucking self, put the toys on the shelf and let people go berserk."

I got to the amiibos, and the young girl was already going nuts, ripping duplicate Rosalinas off of the rack. They had 8 Rosalinas out, and 4 each of Bowser, Shiek, and Toon Link. I grabbed a Rosalina as soon as I could, quickly spotted Shiek, ripped one off, and I was done. By the time I got away from the rack, all of the Rosalinas and Shieks were in peoples hands, with others still not up to the shelves yet due to all of the crowding.

As I walk calmly away from the mess and toward the register, I hear people yelling at the above-mentioned smug Electronics employee, "Is that everything? Is that seriously everything?". He takes a brief pause, as if on purpose, and says "If it's Rosalina, I've got more in the back, but that's it."

I get up to the empty check-out, buy my two mini-figurine toys, and get the hell out of there.

Dang, I'll have to do my best to check my GS this week, seems maybe I'll get lucky. Shulk & Meta Knight are the two exclusives I care the most about. Though if they get Shulk on Tuesday or Thursday, I'm basically out of lucky because I have a class that starts right at 10 AM i.e when GS opens & don't get out until Noon.

So overall, has Rosalina been a bit better compared to Lucario? I just learned today that my town has a decent amount of people who actually care about amiibo, so I need to be more careful for now on.
 
Rosalina and Toon Link get! There were 7 people waiting at my Target, and we had 12 Rosalinas and 4 of everything else (even Bowser) to split between us. I let the other guys pick up Sheik since I have a few of them preordered (so I'll surely get at least one). Bowser I think I can get elsewhere for below retail.

I think it's better because there's more Targets compared to TRU.
 
Got to my Target 20 mins after they opened and they supposedly had 40 of them and were gone by then. I'm pretty much done hunting these things down. I have Ike, Shulk, and Mega Man preordered but I'm done looking after that.

There's a certain amount of fun hunting these down but it's no longer fun for me. I've gone and came up short too many times. Ain't nobody got time for that! :P

Was one of the first in line, but it didn't really matter cause they just opened the doors and people kind of rushed to electronics lol. Already had Toon Link on order but I saw him and thought what the hell. :P

I'm so fucking done with this shit. I live in a good sized town and have checked multiple retailers for months now and I still have literally never seen ~70% of the currently released Amiibos anywhere once, nothing but Mario/Kirby/Zelda/Peach/DK for days. At this point I've spent way more than the cost of these things in time and gas. There's several figures that I would have just picked up if they are readily available but I've never seen them, so if this is Nintendo intentionally shorting stock they are fucking up bad (I don't buy that theory though, I just think they're incompetent).

The only three amiibos that I really really want are Shulk, Toad and Rosalina. Shulk just got charged on my card from my gamestop.com order so that's apparently happening, and I got in on a Toad pre-order on Amazon. When I get my tax return I'm going to wind up just importing Rosalina from somewhere, and then I'm done. If they were readily available I would buy others including some from future waves that I want like Robin and Lucina, but straight up fuck this. It's amazing how bad they're fucking this up. I'm actually pissed off about this, the figures themselves are not a big deal, but it's amazing how poorly NoA is handling this.

Edit: Oh yeah they had a ton of Bowsers left, but everything else from Wave 3 was gone.

I live in a similar sized town. About 130k. I'm so glad I didn't waste my time this morning. NoA sucks, the "they're creating demand" theory is just fanboys trying to deny that NoA is massively incompetent.

I'm glad I don't really want any rares and didn't bother with rosalina. I'm even gonna give shulk away. If my preorders aren't fulfilled, fuck it. I'm not hunting for these anymore.
 
Trudged through a foot of snow to get it, but I got Rosalina and Luma. Could've gotten Sheik but I'm not driving across a bridge with a foot of snow on it for that.
 
I am baffled at the huge disparity between stores and Rosalina shipments. The store I was at had 56. I stopped by another target 4 miles away on the way home and the electronics dude said they only received 8. That seems crazy to me.

The guy was just guessing, he had no idea what these things even were. The flyer apparently didn't have a date? I didn't see it though.

The store manager said she had "just looked it up in the system" and the release date wasn't until the 3rd. I may have talked to her if it wasn't for the jackass making a scene, just to kind of give her a heads up of what was going to happen (I expect a huge line of scalpers at that store both tomorrow and Tuesday morning once they get wind of this).

Don't try and check Gamestop until I get an answer. I have a feeling me and everyone here were told to come here before they knew they were getting shipments on the 13th.
 
Was 4th in line at my Target. They did a limit of 2. They only got 4 Sheiks and one person ahead of me decided to get 2, so no Sheik for me. Got Toon Link and Rosalina (already have Bowser), though. I still have my preorder on Sheik with Amazon, so should hopefully result in me getting one eventually should I not be able to get one sooner.
 
Few people in line here. Just heard the tale of one guy in line that went to a local TRU with a friend in a wheelchair. 8 Lucarios and 4th and 5th in line. ...everyone ran past them and it was 2 per person in line... they got nothing.

It's funny the Mario characters aside from Rosalina are ways gonna be the ones that just sit there. Sucks for us that those are also gonna be the ones that get the most stock.

Sheik seems to be the rarest of the bunch as far as I can tell.
Ike will probably be rare as well, especially since he'll be used in Codename steam
No clue on Dedede, Sonic, and megaman, but I"m guessing they'll be rare too

Edit: No specific date mentioned, but the online product page says the release date is today.

It's difficult when they come in groups. There was a family at my target this morning trying to get multiples of everything and they were getting grabby too. I was first in line so I got Rosie and Shiek, but she got 5 Rosies by giving one to the 4 people with her. They tried to cut me for Sheik but I got one and they got the rest. They did the same thing with Toon Link.

Pieces of human garbage, don't be greedy and have some dignity

yea i almost didnt go because of the snow but target was only 5min up the street from me so i braved it i live in fenton.
