I got 2 spare Rosalinas and a free Yoshi, due to some douche who apparently impersonated me and got the people at the front registers to sell them the Sheik I had on hold in the line when they called out for it. What an ass, but hey, the supervisor hooked me up, so I can't complain. Pretty sure Yoshi is becoming rarer, so I'm not opening it (especially since I have it, anyways.)

Before I left, they announced they only had 2 left, and there was a looong line. Cue that "Jingle All the Way" clip!

Only got there about 5 minutes before open, and it was a small crowd, we all calmly walked to the electronics section for our amiibos. Very calm and civil, it was fantastic. Hope you all had a similar experience (minus the impersonation, of course!)

Same for me. There was about 20 or more people but they handed out cards for your place in line so people couldn't run back to electronics first and everyone just wanted in a line to the back and it was all done in like 5-10 minutes.

Sheik is nowhere near rare in Europe... she's even still in stock in many online stores, including Amazon.

So just a question on Hyrule Warriors Link/Toon Link usage.
Do we need to scan the amiibo every time to use the Spinner, or is it a one time thing for permanent use?
Assuming the latter, does Link/Toon Link have any further use?

No. You only need to scan them once to get the Spinner in your equipment.

I scan them when I can because I noticed one of the Spinners being more powerful/having more slots than my first one so I'm hoping I can strike gold with a better Spinner.

We don't know if that will be the case in the long term, though. Back when Diddy first came out, he was considered super rare/impossible to find too and now he's fairly common. Sheik is a pretty popular character all things considered, so I wouldn't he surprised if she became somewhat common down the road.

I feel like Shulk and Ike are going to remain super rare, though. I doubt they'll be reprinted.

I guess we'll see how they hold up with Wave 3 Stock in the 2nd half of Feb and in March. I'm hoping Nintendo allocates more stock for Wave 3 even into march.

If we see that, then we'll know Nintendo is making changes. I'm really worried thought that I. Toon Link and Shiek (especially Shiek) were already severely under-supplied. And the start of Wave 3 was very rocky. All the delays. Now we have 5 release dates. Wave 3 is officially out in the US and even the basic Amiibos (outside of Bowser) are starved for Stock.

Lucario was a joke. So starting out, Wave 3 looks fuckin awful. But let's hope for a turn around with re-stock on the back half.

It's the whole culture to it. The lining up, the hoarding, the botched pre-orders, the frenzy. I'm just sick of it to be honest.

I don't have time to deal with it. I canceled my Best Buy Pre-orders (and my Lucario order) and when the Toon Link and Bowser come in from Best Buy I'll probably just return them.

I'm honestly getting pretty close to this point myself. I'm only missing Marth and Lucario because I've been fortunate enough to have friends find pieces I never even get a chance to see in the store. But I'm just getting damn tired of it.

There are a few pieces (if they end up releasing every Smash character) that I will want, but I am thinking of giving up trying to be completist on this because honestly Nintendo and their ridiculous underproduction of their product is exhausting the hell out of me.

I'm a lifelong Nintendo fan, and just in the last couple of months they have forced me to lose the faith tremendously.

It was fun to go hunting at first, but when you start to not have the time to do it and continue to face failure instead of success- it's hard to continue doing it. I've been lucky I think- even though I had my TRU orders cancelled for Wave 3, I got on Gamestop and was able to get them still no issue. Rosalina I wasn't really too upset over, but I figured I had nothing to do today and I'd just go waste some time before the game. Not having to face any lines made it really easy for me, despite the first Target having issues with what date to sell at and a couple of douches of having to deal with. I've had the pleasure of not having to deal with scalpers yet (maybe the guy this morning, he reeked of scalper), I think it's just fans around here who are buying some to trade and collect.

I'll keep chugging along because I've wanted to collect something like this for years. A few years ago I started looking at figma for some and only got the Wind Waker LE bundle so I could scratch Ganondorf off my list. If the frustrations continue or I have to deal with a line of these rude and disrespectful people- I'll stop. It's not as important as keeping my sanity.

So for that, I can't blame you at all.

I got hit with an 8k bill because my insurance is refusing to pay my last surgery even though they said they would. Lawyering up right now, and fighting those fuckin leeches. The money actually isn't an issue for me, but it pretty much drained most of my funds this month (after I bought my engagement ring for my fiance as well as paid off the Japan trip stuff).
