Yea it is amazing the hell NOA puts us through and we still come back and ask for more. I am really considering a EU collection. I priced Amazon.fr and Amazon.co.uk and it isn't too bad the more you buy.

I wish you both the best. Unfortunately there will always be people that are unappreciative or lack sympathy towards others. They care only for themselves and their own problems. That's fine, nothing can be done. On the internet you just have to accept there are people like that and they exist in this very thread.

I thank you both for everything you did for the community, even though I didn't personally benefit from it, I know there were many that did.

See you around GAF I hope, even if not in this thread.
 
Got an email from Amazon saying they can't find anymore Sheik, asking if I want to keep waiting. I said yes of course, but man, I ordered Sheik on December 20th! How did they not know almost two months ahead of time how many they would get?

This is true but it sucks due to the discount I get when guying through Best Buy.

Yeah something along those lines. It's funny cause Amazon doesn't have the Wii U and it's only for the States. All other regions still stock Nintendo devices if I recall.

And the port delay I'm sure isn't helpin' - the items have to hit the distro centers before they are shipped to us, right?

Whats funny is that Earthbound has been the #1 selling VC game on WiiU for months after it was released. Its obviously a beloved series.

NoA is fucking clueless. They are still holding a grudge over the launch of Earthbound on SNES because it didnt sell as well as they thought it would. Ever since then, they have neglected to even comment about the game (until they miracuously released it on the WiiU virtual console).

The reason Earthbound didnt sell well when it was launched was that it was sold at a marked up price (pretty sure it was 100$ with the strategy guide included) and the marketing for it was completely backwards.

I even remember in Nintendo power they were advertising heavily for it but they did so with some scratch and sniff cards? Ask yourself, wtf do scratch and sniff cards have to do with Earthbound? They kept advertising it as some weird gross/funny experience.. while in Japan it had some of the coolest commercials ever made for a video game. The commercials in japan sold it as an epic adventure, but NoA was trying to target it towards what they though american kids liked (farts and boogers).

This all just comes back to my original point of NoA being clueless. Look at how they have handled this amiibo situation. Zero comments, no apologies, nothing. Just hiding in their caves.

There is a serious lack of management and PR at this company. When our biggest source of news is reddit/neogaf and not through nintendo themselves... that is a true fuck up.

They are leaving millions of dollars in revenue on the table, just like they are with not releasing another Earthbound game.

Maybe we made the wrong decision by not speaking up about it. But I didn't want cause him stress. And he didn't want people defining me or bothering me because of him. So it made sense to just keep it to ourselves. I didn't think it mattered. But after being contacted by someone on the staff over it (and clearing it up), I figured it was best to just tell people.

I don't know what is expected of me. If I have to post my drivers license. Or prove I have a vagina. The whole thing is kind of strange to me. I never thought I would be questioned so much over it or that so much would be put on it. But I think it's best if I just don't post here again. I don't want to derail the thread or bring anymore attention on me and Azula then needs be.

I don't know what it was exactly why people were flipping out, maybe people were excited at the idea of having "your fiancé" back, or maybe they thought they were smart for thinking you were the same person, but whatever the reason, you didn't deserve the "welcoming" that you did receive. I would like to sincerely apologize on behalf of everyone here for that.

I don't know what exactly was said to you in the PMs but I can imagine it was not pleasant. You are somebody who shares a passion with all of us and it should not matter who you are in real life. We are all amiibro/Amiigals here and the way you were treated was very disappointing. People online tend to forget that the other person they are speaking to is also a human being, but that is still no excuse for bad behavior.

As for the future, I truly hope you choose to post here as all people are welcome here and if anyone says otherwise I will defend you and others to no extent. Your fiancé often spoke of your wish to be a member here and I envisioned both of you posting here together, but seperate. I do have hopes that my vision will still come true.

I know it'll be hard to get past the events that occurred over the last day or so, but I hope I can speak for everyone here when I say you are ALWAYS welcome to post here and let's all put this unecesaary nonsense behind us. Can't we all just get along and complain about Nintendo together?

Really sorry to see you guys go. You guys need a nice break. I'm insanely embarrassed at the behavior of some of the people in this thread. I never saw your guys' posts as distracting or derailing because we're all here to help each other. I really expected better than angry PMs and threats, especially to kind people such as yourselves. That's not what I engaged in AmiiboGAF for, and I sincerely hope that you can forgive those people for being so rude. There are so many wonderful friends here.

You guys have done so much for us, so please focus on treating yourselves extra kindly. I'll keep on doing amiibotars and tracking new releases in your guys' wake.

That's all I'll say on the matter.

On topic, my BB orders are now all confirmed except for Meta Knight. Come.

I went from wanting to purchase one single amiibo of my main, Pikachu, to owning about 12 now. Still expecting to pick up another 4-6, including Palutena. Something tells me she's going to be nightmare to obtain...

Pit's the nicest-looking amiibo imo, though I really like the detailing on Samus and Toon Link's tunic. (Toonic? Hah.) Captain Falcon is probably my favorite overall since he's the only rare I found in a store out in the wild. Also, F-Zero.

Can't wait to see how Nintendo approaches R.O.B., Mr. Game & Watch, and Bowser Jr.

Wow nice. I am just picturing the employee walking out with a box labeled Sheik amiibos and the crowd is just cheering for him lol. Anyways, time to alert my friend and see if any other TRU in California restocked since she wants Sheik badly.

Couldn't agree more , you would think that what after almost 20 years they would be willing to give the series another chance? Im still baffled as to how they even gained the notion that North Americans don't care about Earthbound , as you mentioned it was a top seller on the Virtual Console they didn't even bother to comment on its success after previously seeing it as a failure, lol you could consider it a miracle that we are even receiving ness because if it was solely up to NoA , i doubt he would reach western shores.Region Exclusives amiibos would be the icing on the cake , i know it seems ludicrous but hey so was the notion of america not receiving the standard New 3DS
 
Sheik might be in the midst of getting her only restock from Toys R Us, but don't forget she still hasn't even been stocked at Gamestop yet.
 
Still a little weird that I've only seen Little Mac once, and it's the one unit I bought randomly at Target.

That guy was gone SO quick from existence. And it feels like there wasn't a mad rush to get him like with Rosalina, it was just THAT small of a production most likely.
 
For those worried about their GameStop USA preorders being delayed. Don't fret.

EB Games Canada (GameStop Canada) was not able to fulfill all preorders at once. Many preorders were delayed to February sometime like Ike, Sheik, King Dedede, Shulk etc.
 
Sheik being not so rare makes me feel better about not picking one up on Sunday. Already have 'em pre-ordered at GameStop, so I skipped out on another.

That's a shame. He's a great guy and I can't begin to think how it must feel going through that, and you seemed like you'd fit in quite well. Yeah, he would quit and return a lot but we forgave him and just wanted him to be happy. I wish you both the best and I never did say congratulations on your engagement! I do hope to see one or both of you again but if not, then take care.

I heard it was a licensing issue or something. So even if Nintendo wanted to make another, they couldn't due to the guy that originally made it not wanting to or something like that.

I always through the problem with Earthbound was rights issues during localization?

But yes, the larger issue, is NOA is operating under the idea that nobody will buy products (like amiibo) based off of how stuff did 20 years ago. I know it's hard to change a whole production schedule once it has started, but hopefully now they know just how badly people want to buy ANY Nintendo products with their favorite characters on it. I'd wager amiibo would be selling just as well if they didn't interact with any games at all.

The day I got Mac at toys r us there was about 12 on the rack. That was the first and last time I saw that. I see more macs on for glory

Sometimes you can be the nicest person and end up getting haters. Not everyone will agree with you, no matter what you do. You two don't have to leave.
