Amiibo Thread 3 | Where release dates are made up and preorders don't matter!

Reminds me of making animated gifs of Cia to avoid studying too lol.

Got that right. We're continuing a legacy here!

You know, ever since I missed the chance to order Rosalina on Target, I started having this weird odd feeling that wave 4 is going to show up during some 2 am - 3 am time period that I'm not paying attention to.

Am I still accurate?

WTF is going on with Wave 3? Everything except Bowser become rare? Nintendo shouldn't even bother making them anymore. Wave 4 should only be available to Nintendo employees.

I hope there is a chance my ship to store order place the day it went live shows up at store... I've already seen the shulk figures at my local gs a good while ago... But im still not confident...

I can't believe they've just sat on these things for so long. Don't they know shulk is driving us nuts?! Is shulk street dated?

They must have produced less characters from wave 3 than from the previous ones... Since more and more shops don't even stock them anymore here, and shelf space dwindle more and more, I can understand why. I'd be curious to know whether it would be so difficult to find the figures at least online, should the scalpers not be here.

But I think the list is kinda misleading... Many are "rare" because they actually haven't even been officially released yet, or some shops still haven't received them. For half of the Wave 3, the release date should be between 13th and 20th... I don't think Sonic will be really rare, for example.

I just checked my tracking number for my Gamestop order of Shulk and was updated with an estimated delivery of Thursday the 12th, just in time for the actual release. Here's hoping the shipping comes earlier but knowing UPS, they're delivery estimate is frustratingly accurate.

Considering people's are getting cancelled, be happy you're getting it at all.

Odd.. Thursday I had the emails from gamestop for DDD, Sonic, Megaman, and ike being placed on backorder after ordering online ship to home.

I got tracking email yesterday for Sheik and Toon Link but have had no emails either way for Shulk. I ordered on 12/12 and apparently some who ordered after me are getting tracking notifications.

:-(

Well, whadaya know! Just got my Amazon e-mail. My Sheik is now scheduled to arrive on Feb 13. Hooray! They're dispatching Wave 3 in full force.

Now about Wave 4........

I just went to check, and my Sheik from Amazon is supposed to arrive by Wednesday, Feb 11 :) Yay!

No new updates on Sonic, but so happy about Sheik!

So, on my way to Pittsburgh currently, sad i havent been able to Settle It In Smash with you guys, but hopefully soon!

Any new date news come out in the past day or two?

I was searching for pictures of the new link between worlds Figma link figure and found this Nendoroid:

I can't find any other info in this thing at all! Does anybody know about this guy?

google image search led me to an article stating this was a prototype done in the style of OoT Link, which may or may not have eventually led to the Wind Waker Nendroid we have now, both were done by goodsmile and this link looks very similar in style to the Luigi one they did

So I understand some people in the US have Mega Man already? How's the quality in general, save to preorder?

There's a rumour at the moment that Nintendo is planning on altering some features of the Amiibos to make them more mass producible in future (such as removing or altering Mario's fireball), based on a discussion from a Nintendo rep. Interesting if true.

Still, for now it's hearsay ("someone told someone told someone", etc), so I'd take it with a massive grain of salt.

Mega Man is definitely one of the better ones. He benefits from having a very simple and clean design.

Cool, I guess I'll preorder then, seeing as he is the current #1 in Wii U accessories on amazon.de.

Sounds silly.. removing the fireball from the Mario SMASH amiibo to make him more easy to mass produce.... as if we don't have ENOUGH of him on shelves already. LOL

Yay!! Who's ready for mass produced Marth sans sword?! Nintendo....smh

Doesn't make sense. Mario's already easy to get and he's like the only one with an added effect like the fire ball.

The "Super Mario line" might be part of the redesign initiative or whatever that rep was talking about. The Mario figure looks far easier to produce than the Smash one.

So, I don't think there'll be a second Smash Amiibo set of Mario, Link etc., but instead, I think we'll see a new Zelda line, a new Fire Emblem line and so on.

Yeah, on Meta Knight the mask shading and brown wing tips were unnecessary additions that shed points off the overall figure. I like the pose and model though.

I gota start posting on this thread much more.
Rosalina from Target web order is expected in today's mail, and Lucario from TRU web discount order on Monday.

How many of you would be up to changing the Smash tourney day from Friday to anything else? Would love to join. Or have another day as well as Friday.

If they do that... it's gonna become like comic book

First wave/designs will become extremely sort after
And prices would jump on the 2nd hand market

Got my Sheik in from gohastings. Good thing I'm going to open it or else I'd be pissed about the box. They shipped it in a bubble mailer and it pretty much was destroyed haha.

See I told you I had a reason to worry several pages ago... :(

EB Games Canada has been great so far. I will be sticking with them for all Amiibo Waves.

They even were able to get me a King Dedede replacement in 2 days due to the poor quality of the one I got last Friday.

They got me all my Wave 3 non exclusives except for Sonic and Mega Man that were delayed nationwide to this Monday the 6th.

Their Twitter has been fantastic at communicating it all too.

I really hope I'll have no problems getting wave 3B. I can't handle any other Little Mac situation where my orders are cancelled on release. Especially not for Shulk who I've been looking forward to the most! Amazon UK, please come through!

I should really talk to someone about that. Though I'm pretty sure it's not from the store I work at because the guy who sends stuff is pretty strict about that stuff. I don't suppose it states where it was shipped from?

Anyone try brickseek and see that target has some figures but went and nothing? I even called and was told the ones showing in stock have been sold that day but 3 days after are still showing. Anyway I could call before making the long ass trip and verify with the code or would they do that? Most of the times the site is a big help but there are 5 wii fit trainers in the area and visiting the store had none on the shelves. Wonder if they are in the back and could be held.

Probably lost in a box in the back. Any time I've purchased something from there and checked the brickseek ~30 minutes later it was updated.

Email. Called to confirm too. Nothing they could do. Unlike EB Canada who may not have enough for day 1 launch of Shulk but will still fulfil orders, Gamestop USA is just cancelling.

I wonder if it has to do with you being from Canada at all. I haven't heard of many other cancellations as of yet, especially from folks here in the states. I'm in the "shipped to store and fully paid off" camp, so I have no idea what's going on with my orders sadly. I would hope that they have priority and that's why I've heard nothing. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

That certainly makes sense - the Super Mario Amiibos that we've seen so far do look a little simpler than their Smash equivalents.
